Still quite Portuguese if not generally Iberian?

My immediate ancestry is firmly Polish but due to the region I’m from and where past family members originated from, you would more than likely start seeing Bohemian and German names not too far down the line

My name is actually extremely unique to my home region to the point it’s never seen anywhere else, it could either come from the Polish word for (forest dwelling) devil or lanky person. It has no special accents and is quite easy to spell. No -ski or “wicz” at the end

I wonder if Polish would be better to look at if they just gave up on the Latin script entirely.

Altitude training had me feeling like hypoxia was imminent. I leave Flagstaff for one month and I again need to conquer the elevation. Oof.

Fucking Portuguese names, man...it's literally adding family name after family name until it becomes a familial mess of words.

Hell, my own full name, which has been heavily simplified out of convenience, is still four words long.

Southwestern, actually

I come from an area that’s always been stuck between Silesia and Galicia/Lesser Poland. It was under the Austro-Hungarian Empire but with Imperial German Silesia a stone’s throw away. I believe one of my great or great great grandfathers actually came from Poznań back when it was Posen and considered West Prussian (under the German Empire)

They did.

The Portuguese (and friends) beat them back and avoided a personal union under Spain.

So apparently walking your dog while wearing pyjamas and with a blanket wrapped around you occasionally stopping to cough out your lungs makes you look like a weirdo. I was nearly done with my walk when a police car rolled up to me asking how I was doing, me telling them I was sick but nearly home and was walking my dog, and them telling me someone had called saying there was a homeless person dying and walking around the neighbourhood.
