Nah. If anything, the more remote locations are at higher risk of it, as I'd imagine that polluted water would result in the death of the parasites that cause Swimmer's Itch, and the pollution would deter the source animals from using it.

Of all the bloodsucking parasites leeches are the best. The rarely spread diseases and unless your allergic to them which is really rare then they barely affect you.
