Ever notice how 95% of modern pictures of Moses look like Charlton Heston?

It's always good to keep up with what people you don't agree with on science and history are saying. I used to buy Ancient America magazine for entertainment value. According to them, every single ancient culture got to the Americas before Columbus.

Lol. More personally, that article was something I was thinking like 'sweet' when I read it, and since I didn't recognize the search I felt I should at least get Wikipedia confirmation and ended up reading the relevant Exodus (book and event) articles

It is a fascinating subject. I have a book by Donald Redford, Egypt, Canaan, and Israel in ancient times, which won the 1993 "Best Scholarly Book in Archaeology" awarded by the Biblical Archaeology Society, and, wiki sayeth, "he argues that the experiences of the Hyksos in Egypt became a central foundation of myths in Canaanite culture, leading to the story of Moses. He further argues that almost all the toponymic details in the Exodus story reflect conditions in Egypt not earlier than the Twenty-sixth Dynasty, the Saite period, namely the 7th century BC. Whoever, Redford argues, provided the author of Exodus with these details had no access to Egyptian material earlier than that date."
Huh. Maybe I need to dip into it again, my interest is piqued.
