Just imagine, infantry that is able to cross a country that size while walking at that speed. I wonder what sort of terrain they went through to get here, was it simply along the road, or where they also going through say forests or the like.

2: Now you are trying to again twist around things... wow. No more comments on that, offtopic anyway.

3: Yeah, that´s exactly what i´m asking you? You made these statements, you said "that can´t be!" without citing any valid argument as to why this can´t be. You said France etc. kept taking a lot of immigrants when it was in fact exactly these countries that took in the fewest in the EU and actually even breached/bypassed(technicaly half-legal) EU law by doing so.

Sorry but you said these things, are you now gonna deny that? Really?

I am referring to this one statement you keep bringing up in regards to me saying immigrants are too expensive. I have no idea where you are pulling this from, since that does not represent my views on immigration at all.

And once more I ask you why you bring up clearly false, anti-empirical and utterly far-right statements then?

You know what... Whatever lol. Yeah you didn´t say any of that etc although I clearly quoted you on this... Happy now? Good.

Oh so this caravan was millions strong, and even though they only just recently crossed into Mexico they have somehow already made it here to the US and have managed to cross in. Wow, these Hondurans are rather impressive. Given the speed at which they walk we should get them to join the US military.

It's obvious I meant illegals other than the caravan.
What would things have been like if every security operative, when he went out at night to make an arrest, had been uncertain whether he would return alive? Or if during periods of mass arrests, as for example in Leningrad, when they arrested a quarter of the entire city, people had not simply sat in their lairs, paling with terror at every bang of the downstairs door and at every step on the staircase, but had understood they had nothing left to lose and had boldly set up in the downstairs hall an ambush of half a dozen people with axes, hammers, pokers, or whatever else was at hand? The Organs would quickly have suffered a shortage of officers and transport and, notwithstanding all of Stalin's thirst, the cursed machine would have ground to a halt!

It's obvious I meant illegals other than the caravan.

Well first, many people who are in the US illegally actually entered the US legally and then overstayed their Visa. Second, preventing all illegal immigration would be ridiculously expensive and require a huge number of people. It isn't worth the cost to do that.

I realize that mere major landmarks of large metropolitan areas that were at one time the capital are not very influential on the policy and law of a federal government, but...
Emma Lazarus wrote:Not like the brazen giant of Greek fame,
With conquering limbs astride from land to land;
Here at our sea-washed, sunset gates shall stand
A mighty woman with a torch, whose flame
Is the imprisoned lightning, and her name
MOTHER OF EXILES. From her beacon-hand
Glows world-wide welcome; her mild eyes command
The air-bridged harbor that twin cities frame.

"Keep, ancient lands, your storied pomp!" cries she
With silent lips. "Give me your tired, your poor,
Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free,
The wretched refuse of your teeming shore.
Send these, the homeless, tempest-tost to me,
I lift my lamp beside the golden door!
"

is on the statue of liberty, which is a relatively common national symbol of liberty, so if the nation's government disagrees with something on it, they should at least change it or otherwise clarify to at least appear less hypocritical. I believe that the migrants are tired, poor, and there are masses of them, and a national symbol does suggest if not request allowing those who fit those qualifications to come.

I do not understand why international borders are so much more regulated than intranational borders. Almost any excuse that applies in some cases of the former also applies to some cases in the latter. Medical quarantine? More effective on a sub-national level anyway. Stop criminals? Criminals cross more intranational borders than international borders I do believe. Prevent culture poisoning in a nation that has bragged about multiculturalism? One can have more of a culture shock between a large liberal city and rural areas in the same country than between two different sides of a metropolitan area which happen to be on opposite sides of an arbitrary line.
I would like to help people who are deserving of asylum, but unable to obtain it to get it through non-violent means. If I ever own a boat that is good enough, and live nearer a border than now, I would regret not helping them.

Trumptonium1 wrote:Send the military to the southern border and financially sanction MEX/GUA/ELS/HON for failing to prevent mass illegal immigration. What Britain should have done to France a long time ago.

Friendly reminder that a sizeable percentage of undocumented immigrants merely overstay their visas.

Also, who are these "them"?

Doesn't mean we can't try. Otherwise why even have borders?

Try to what, prevent all illegal border crossings? We could...but like I said, it would be stupidly impractical, and would be super expensive. Kinda silly to try for that 0 number given the cost associated. Even more stupid when so many come here legally and overstay their VISA, meaning those border patrol people would be useless.
