It's an interesting conversation to have given how a lot of right-wing ideologies deplored romantic love or at least portrayed it as a potentially less moral option. Christian monks/nuns come to mind as investing their love and devotion in G-d as opposed to a marriage. I'm not certain of the extent to which Mohism/Buddhism would embrace similar notions. We'd probably need to consult Rei on that. A lot of fascists and right-wing revolutionaries were similarly averse to marriage - since being tied down might feminize them and distract them from serving the nation. Besides, you can make Aryan babies without a marriage. That idea is of course wholly alien to Judaism.

Tbh, a thing that bothers me about the English language is how romantic love (eros) is often just referred to as "love" in the colloquial sense. Perhaps that has something to do with my (vaguely Kantian and/or Mohist) philosophical views on impartial benevolence. I dunno though.
