While I'm personally not keen on pineapples in general (let alone having them on pizzas) and while I can understand the dislike, I kind of think that the whole hatred of pineapples on pizza is a bit overblown. I mean, yes it's not the best combination but trust me there are far worse things to put on it, like banana pudding or that Swedish pizza that's something like banana and chicken. I don't hate bananas, by the way, I just don't think they really belong on a pizza.

Then again, this is coming from a guy who once made a pasta and meatballs (well, vegetarian alternative if you want to be specific) pizza as well as an instant noodles (or ramen noodles if you prefer) and vegetarian bacon pizza, so I'm not really one to talk about people's pizza habits. Yes, they both went down well; and yes, you can use meat ingredients instead of the veggie ones I used.

Surely it can't be worse than putting chewing gum and banana on your pizza...

I find it beyond groovy, Pineapple on Pizza is to me beyond groovy. I don't require anyone to like Hawaiian Pizza, it's a pizza topping, you can like what you like. What I fail to grasp is people who demonize Hawaiian pizza eating. It's a pizza topping. I strongly dislike Pepperoni pizza. I hate pepperoni on pizza. I wish people would stop assuming everyone likes Pepperoni pizza and equating it to be on the same level of popularity as cheese, because I cannot stand Pepperoni pizza. When people order pizza and they think it is fine to just order a Pepperoni, I can't stand it. But if you like Pepperoni pizza, I'm glad you enjoy it. People go ahead and say Pineapple 'doesn't belong on pizza'. Which is weird on two fronts: On one hand, none of our toppings belong on pizza if you are talking about authentic pizza, because the only American pizza that is even vaguely Italian is Margarita. Secondly, the American way is to dump whatever you can onto something. We love to take our foods and make them totally ridiculous. How does a Gobbler sandwich make sense, or how does a burger made with glazed doughnuts (Made at the Big E) make any sense? Saying "Pineapple doesn't belong on Pizza." while chugging a soda made from roots or chowing down chicken & waffles seems incredibly hypocritical. People treat this like some sort of moral issue. Hawaiian Pizza is Pizza, and I like it. No one said you had to. Like whatever pizza you want, even if you like white pizza. I want to like Hawaiian....
