Many are stupid.

And your beloved elites where the ones that elected a low IQ nutcase that is dangerous for the US called Trump. They also elected someone like George W. Bush with an IQ of 96 lmao. So no, Hillary would have been the smarter choice in terms of political performance. So much for that topic. Elites tend to be so out of touch that they often make the dumbest decisions.

But if you stick to your electoral just please do me the favor and stop bragging that you are a democracy, because you ain´t.

Show me where I called the US a democracy lmao.

What would things have been like if every security operative, when he went out at night to make an arrest, had been uncertain whether he would return alive? Or if during periods of mass arrests, as for example in Leningrad, when they arrested a quarter of the entire city, people had not simply sat in their lairs, paling with terror at every bang of the downstairs door and at every step on the staircase, but had understood they had nothing left to lose and had boldly set up in the downstairs hall an ambush of half a dozen people with axes, hammers, pokers, or whatever else was at hand? The Organs would quickly have suffered a shortage of officers and transport and, notwithstanding all of Stalin's thirst, the cursed machine would have ground to a halt!

If elderly politicians refuse to retire once they reach an age where their health and mental faculties tend to become increasingly diminished, they should be forced to retire.

The politicians in the US are old mostly because big donors or money is very important in campaigning. Whichever candidate can spend the most money on getting elected usually has the advantage. To have money, you have to be old more often than not. Older people had more time to go through a successful career where they happen to earn a lot of money or own a bunch of assets or property via investment, entrepreneurship, or whatever else people do to become rich or economically stable.

So far as who people vote for, the incumbent has an advantage in that if people approve of the job they're doing, people know their policies or platform more so than for any challenger. Term limits aren't ideal in that it could cause too many inexperienced people to come into political power who can't get anything done or don't know what they're doing. But on the flip side, the lack of it could mean the same people being in power for too long and nothing changing.

The US has some age requirements for its politics. 25 years of age or older to qualify for House of Representatives, 30 years of age or older to qualify for the US Senate, and 35 years of age or older to be US president or Vice President.

People under 25 shouldn't be allowed to hold public office. That's the only age restriction that's reasonable to me. Being elderly doesn't magically make you unfit to lead. In fact, I prefer my leaders to be people who've gotten their families and careers already sorted so they can focus on actually leading.

It's usually considered a good thing when leaders can relate to the broader electorate. If they're over 50, they really only relate to old folk unless they're one of those "hip" politicians.

Yeah, I know. Apparently all that matters today is if a president plays basketball.

There are still people that grow up today being told that, though.

Doesn't really matter if they were "told" it. It matters more if they believe it or not.

It'd be better if those politicians learned that that's wrong thinking, rather than just not being in office because of what they learned growing up.
