So apparently they cut him up while he was still alive? Didn't know SAW was that popular in the Arab world.

Yuge if true.

Yeah that interrogation really took things to new levels.

Nothing is going to come of this. Of course I don't want the US to threaten war with another country, but their inconsistency in their treatment of Iran and Saudi Arabia is very telling. Anyone who supports US foreign policy for humanitarian reasons is just ignorant or a moron.

They've been watching Scarface.

He won't.

The US will stand by Saudi Arabia because they make Trump lots of money.

What a complete mockery..

What has happened is that in the last 20 years
America has changed from a producer to a consumer
And all consumers know that when the producer names the tune...
The consumer has got to dance
That's the way it is. We used to be a producer – very inflexible at that
And now we are consumers and, finding it difficult to understand

Natural resources and minerals will change your world
The Arabs used to be in the 3rd World
They have bought the 2nd World and put a firm down payment on the 1st one
Controlling your resources will control your world

...

And yesterday was the day of our cinema heroes
Riding to the rescue at the last possible moment
The day of the man in the white hat or the man on the white horse ...
Or, the man who always came to save America at the last moment
Someone always came to save America at the last moment
Especially in "B" movies

And when America found itself having a hard time ...
Facing the future, they looked for people like John Wayne
But since John Wayne was no longer available, they settled for Donald Trump
And it has placed us in a situation that we can only look at ...
Like a "B" movie

Gil Scott Heron put that out in 1981 about Reagan but it's still all true..

B Movie

Trump has gone into his defensive arms crossed body language on this, like a little kid refusing to eat his broccoli. The trouble is if Turkey does have the evidence they claim he is going to look a right arse.

That said it is getting to the point where Turkey needs to make the evidence public, and I think it would be better to release it to the world not just give it to the US.

Al Jazeera are alleging that the operation was led by the bodyguard of MBS. His secretary is alleged to have booked the flights and multiple phone calls were made that connect him directly to the suspected murder.

I really don't think the US keeping a close relationship with someone who is essentially the Saudi version of Uday Hussein is a good idea. With Yemen likely to become the largest humanitarian disaster in history you will take a lot of reputational damage.

You got someone else in mind in the middle east?

But I am more interested the part of my post you cut out.

The Saudis are sophisticated investors, and have billions of dollars invested in high tech American industries. Apple, uber. Microsoft, Tesla, amazon, etc. I am not seeing the rush to divest these investments.

Getting spanked by Putin at Helsinki and now getting spanked by the Saudis. Donnie is really looking strong here.

Yeah right, best you are going to get is a strongly worded OP-ed in the ny times.

As to trump, What do you expect then to do? Start relying on Iran or Syria, as a force for peace?

All the state actors in that region suck.

He could at least do something substantial. All his submissive bitch posturing will do is encourage Russian/South American rates of journalist murders.

Should we read from this that you think Saudi Arabia is a force for peace in the region?

Largely as a result of sucky US foreign policy.

I am sure you do, but the answer would be no, it was a sarcastic comment.

Nah, they have sucked long before the US even knew what oil deposits where there. It was the Brits who drew the state lines, not the Americans. The current House of saud is a British creation from that Peter o'toole fellow.

Even looking at Iran, are they and we better off with the current government, or the shah?

Of course. All the hottest hunks will be there.

For real, though, after all that salivating by Trump over the arms deals when bin Salman went to the US, I would've been very surprised if he and his lackeys showed even a semblance of backbone.
