It is not ideal for a conservative president loved by many Christians to support Saudi Arabia, a tyrannical islamic theocracy. I wonder what will be the Saudi`s response? But this is going to be destructive to the world market and economy. Another oil embargo?

Without the U.S. behind it, I doubt they will be able to maintain the hold on the region they have now.

That said it is getting to the point where Turkey needs to make the evidence public, and I think it would be better to release it to the world not just give it to the US.
Al Jazeera are alleging that the operation was led by the bodyguard of MBS. His secretary is alleged to have booked the flights and multiple phone calls were made that connect him directly to the suspected murder.
I really don't think the US keeping a close relationship with someone who is essentially the Saudi version of Uday Hussein is a good idea. With Yemen likely to become the largest humanitarian disaster in history you will take a lot of reputational damage.

You got someone else in mind in the middle east?
But I am more interested the part of my post you cut out.
The Saudis are sophisticated investors, and have billions of dollars invested in high tech American industries. Apple, uber. Microsoft, Tesla, amazon, etc. I am not seeing the rush to divest these investments.

Perhaps if the government showed some leadership they might.

Yeah right, best you are going to get is a strongly worded OP-ed in the ny times.
As to trump, What do you expect then to do? Start relying on Iran or Syria, as a force for peace?
All the state actors in that region suck.

Should we read from this that you think Saudi Arabia is a force for peace in the region?

Largely as a result of sucky US foreign policy.

A number of bigshot American investors withdrew from the Future Investment Initiative over this.
