I think it may depend on the school and culture

University has cliques too

The university I went to had tens of thousands of students. It's not possible to have a "popular kids" clique among that many people. Social circles formed within courses, clubs and societies, and residences, and these overlapped and intersected, but there were no "popular kids" who could make anyone look bad, or who everyone wanted to be one of. You're confusing the real world and entertainment media again.

Exactly. The only equivalent of "cliques" that I can think of in terms of University is the various societies and clubs, but being a member of one of those doesn't instantly make someone superior to anyone else. Some University societies and clubs might become a bit echo chamber-ish, but that is a separate issue entirely.

My response: "Look, Felicié, you screwed around out here and quite frankly I don't trust you to not get the inside of the house dirty, nor anyone else. There's a hose out here for everyone, which is why I said dress casual (there's not one indicated in the scenario, but I feel like the barn indicates that sort of preparation). You can either hose off and get out of here or one of the guys will walk you there. They all seem to love you; I'm sure you'll have several volunteers.

Justification: My house or not, I'm not getting it messy, and while I appreciate that she's upset, she's also not going to change because of one incident unless her attitude has indicated a positive reaction to the event. I'm also pretty snarky, which is why the last comment.

As to a duty of forgiveness: I agree there's no such thing. You don't have to forgive and forget, but it also helps your psyche to let things go.

Rich girl is being really mean to you at party and laughs when you fall into a pit of mud, and takes a bunch of pictures of you. She then tries to get a better angle from up high and falls into the pit of mud herself. The situation is that she comes back and asks if she can use your washroom to clean up. Then it's the two questions in the OP. That's as good as I can put it, although I may be missing some stuff.

This seems like it belongs in F7 more than here.

Makes sense

The last comment is a major stinger though...

Because i am malicious person, I would lie to her.
"Uh, sorry but my shower doesn't work. There is a creek over there though." Then when shes done, let her leave and post the pictures of her covered in mud.

Had to fix it. I read it over and i realized that it sounded horrible. I fixed it, tho.

You have a motive, a means, and no alibi.

No, it’s still illegal, even if you don’t get caught.

Another thing i would do is just say. "Sorry cant do it. Although i have paper towels." THEN you post the pictures of her covered in mud

It would be worth going to prison to take pictures of someone bathing without their knowledge and post them online?

This is the saddest attempt to be edgy I have ever seen.

I told her to use the garden hose, and gave her an old potato sack to wear, and even I think that is abhorrent...

That's rather how it sounds when you say you'll point her to a creek where she can get clean and then take pictures of her behind her back and post them online.

It sounded kind of inappropriate tbh

I mean, you stepped in some mud, get over it. Also the girl is kind of an asshole, but if those clothes are that expensive she has reason to be, that's hundreds of bucks ruined

That being said, assuming all of this is what happened, which I am physically incapable of believing but whatever, of course you give her the shower. She was a bit rude to you, she didn't commit genocide or suplex your kitten. It ain't about deserving forgiveness, it's about deserving kindness, and nearly everyone deserves at least a modicum of that

Yes the clothes cost hundreds to perhaps thousands. You can bet she does not buy on discounts. She's massively upset/hurt/distressed because of the permanent damage to the clothes (she thinks the mud can never 100% be removed). Also, she's in psychological distress because the people will Remember this. There's no removing this episode from existence; its in the minds of everyone now.

...So how sociopathic do you need to be to not at least let her take a shower lmao

Yeah I'd be concerned about long last psychological trauma too...

Rich Quebecois girls can be very fragile; this could explain her earlier snobbish behaviour (its high levels of insecurity)
