I believe there is some duty of care, as it’s your party, and someone in a vunerable position is humbly asking your help, however it is understandable to decline, given the way she has treated me. That said, all she did was play a prank and have a general snobbish disposition. Hardly a capital crime.
But lemme guess, somehow, everyone who says they will help her must also support communism or torture or must be against due process.
Real talk tho, you might be a decent writer if you left out your bizarre love of torture and the USSR and your bizarre hatred for due process.

I don't understand how you got to the bolded part.
Also, what does torture or the USSR or due process have to do with this?

2. Forgiveness happens or it doesn't, it's not a choice. Also your hypothetical me is a lot more high strung than actual me I would not be horribly offended. I would think it was funny someone showed up overdressed to a party and acted awful all the time.
3. Jesus fucking christ that was a very long road to a very simple hypothetical.

Forgiveness is always a choice.

That being said, assuming all of this is what happened, which I am physically incapable of believing but whatever, of course you give her the shower. She was a bit rude to you, she didn't commit genocide or suplex your kitten. It ain't about deserving forgiveness, it's about deserving kindness, and nearly everyone deserves at least a modicum of that

Yes the clothes cost hundreds to perhaps thousands. You can bet she does not buy on discounts. She's massively upset/hurt/distressed because of the permanent damage to the clothes (she thinks the mud can never 100% be removed). Also, she's in psychological distress because the people will Remember this. There's no removing this episode from existence; its in the minds of everyone now.

so you're saying, her karma account checks out at net zero (perfect balance) after the mud fall... and any further abuse/passive-aggression against her would tilt her account towards imbalance?

It sounds like all the people at this party are assholes, so why worry about what they think? Just never spend time with them again.

It’s not specified in the op but the premise is that these friends are powerful and not to be offended. If you’re In your safe (except when you get screwed over like with that mud trick).
They run the rumor mills. If you’re Out and on bad terms, they can cast a Friend Zone net over the whole campus against you. You will be so bad mouthed that dates will almost 100 percent be off limits for you.
Also, invitations to parties will be out.
In other words, you will be left to bleed.
