This election is quite sad. Brazil has had problems which corrupt nepotist politicians have looked over and now this election is pretty much wake-up call to how disastrous things have become in Brazil. It is sad that people don`t give a chance to Marina Silva (REDE). Personally I would have voted her if I lived in Brazil.
I wonder what policies Jair Bolsonaro has on the issue of the environment?

Jair Bolsonaro, for me, is a laughable clown which resemble a Bond villain. But people will vote for him, because they want more effective solutions for the problems that is plaguing Brazil. And if everybody here wants a one-way ticket to a military dictatorship in Brazil, please consider that the 1964-1985 dictatorship was not sunshine and sprinkles, even though the economy boosted.

If the second round ends with Fernando Haddad (PT) and Jair Bolsonaro (PSL), I would have to choose Fernando Haddad sadly. I have never been a fan of socialist policies, but there is no other choice.

So, let the Hunger Games begin!

Bolsonaro wants to reinstate torture and capital punishment to combat gangs and drug cartels who also torture and kill. In a nutshell, he wants to fight fire with fire.

Which is sad. I see humanity going a dark way ahead if we continue to vote that way. A nuclear or biological war probably. We need to change the Status Quo ASAP.

Bolsonaro`s aggressive anti-crime policies can have two outcomes:

1. The drug cartels and criminal groups surrender to the electric chair. But Bolsonaro sure wants to sterilize the poor people living in favelas?

2. The drug cartels and criminal groups go into hiding mode and will respond with fire and bullets. Personally, I fear that guerilla armies are going to be formed by the drug cartels as a response to Jair Bolsonaro "eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth" policies

Bolsonaro is not a representative of the people. He literally wants Brazil's military dictatorship back (and torture, executions, death fights etc.). He's just as bad if not worse than Brazil's criminals. Plus, he's blatantly sexist and homophobic (congresswoman "not worth raping"? WTF!?)

We stand for Bolsonaro.

The so-called "military dictatorship" did nothing wrong, Brazilian economy grew an average of 10% each year, less crime, more infrastructure, more investments and quality of the education and research infrastructure.

13 million unemployed, generalized moral crisis, huge deficits and growing levels of violence are most important problems to a nation than supposed sexism or homophobia

I'm from Brazil and our current situation is this: We either vote for Bolsonaro or we get a Maduro-supporter in power.
Fernando Haddad is simply a puppet for Lula da SIlva, our ex-president (and prisoner for corruption). Lula stole the Brazilian people (mainly the poor which he so much defends in his populist speeches), and his party (PT = Worker's party) is definitely as reliable as any socialist party in South America (in short = Dictatorship). Haddad also defends censoring the media (fighting against "fake news", which is a slang for "any news source that doesn't agree with me"), and will probably do anything to keep the Worker's Party in power while trying to get Lula out of prison. This party also openly supports Venezuela's current regime led by Maduro. Do you guys still think Haddad is a sane option for Brazil?

I'm not 100% Bolsonaro, because he is a polemic candidate and pretty much an internet meme risen to power (Similar to Trump). He sure does say some things without thinking, but he is not racist, xenophobic or homophobic, and defends basically what an American Republican candidate would defend.

I'm sure that Bolsonaro will not be elected in the first round, and will face Haddad in the second round. Between Haddad and Bolsonaro, I would pick Bolsonaro.

Edit: I added why Haddad is a Maduro Supporter

The so-called "military dictatorship" did nothing wrong, Brazilian economy grew an average of 10% each year, less crime, more infrastructure, more investments and quality of the education and research infrastructure.

13 million unemployed, generalized moral crisis, huge deficits and growing levels of violence are most important problems to a nation than supposed sexism or homophobia

It's always rich to see white middle class liberals from the West decide that other countries' main problems is bum pinching 30 years ago, rude words on Twitter or fat shaming.

Orban, Morawiecki, Salvini (I think I can say that now, given his approval ratings and higher Italian wage and GDP growth) and other forms of 'populist' (although they are largely different in views and especially causes behind their rise and support) are loved because they care for the people and improve their lives.

In a way the same can be said for Chavez/Maduro, but he of course has ulterior motives and is hellbent on destroying the citizenry rather than improving their life.

Nobody working in a factory with crappy wages and constant threats be it crime (Brazil), high cost of living (Hungary) or total stagnation (Italy) ever looked at Twitterati anti-sexism crusaders and said "That's just what we need to fix all our problems!"
