why is the end of democracy a good thing?

I didn't say the end of democracy, I said the end of liberalism. The two are not intrinsic.

My country shares borders with Brazil, and relations can get pretty wacky once Bolsonaro takes power it seems.

Then again i don't know "Porra" (the only bad word on Portugese that i know) about Brazilian Politics.
Man, we Latin Americans have it so hard.

I'm cautious. Brazil is not France, so who's to say if Haddad can pull a Macron and win by virtue of his opponent being a gigantic piece of shit.

There's still hope Jair can get over 50% before the vote is counted fully.

Also, isn't this the largest vote for a candidate in the first round ever (in Brazil)? He's got more votes than Bill Clinton in a country with 100 million fewer people.

I'm on your side, San Lumen, but you are taking the wrong approach. You're not telling him anything he hasn't already heard or that would change his mind. Most likely, it only further invigorates his support for Bolsonaro.

If you want to express your moral condemnation in some way, the best is to just put him in your ignore list.

You don't get to bully others for daring to give a shit about bigotry. Just be happy that you are in a position where you can not give a shit about it and let those who don't have that privilege voice their opinion.
