I just have a hard time believing that Islam is peaceful when there are certain passages within the text that are very VERY appalling.

It's hilarious to see any discussions about europe and immigrants from the mideast and africa immediately turn into a stalemate of 'righ' and 'left'. It's always the same, the right winger points out the upsetting state of european society, the left distracts from the actual argument by focusing the entire discussion on sources and finding mistakes in the 'hate filled' speech of their counterpart. As soon as they have acquired enough confidence to feel morally superior and more intellectually refined than their right-wing counterpart, they argue against the credibility of the person speaking, because admitting the problem of the migrant crisis and the effects it's having on europe remain an uncomfortable subject they do not feel obligated to talk about.
