Does it matter? Fastow had no power in Enron beyond hiring Arthur Andersen which caused Enron to fall down. A potential head of state no matter how ceremonial can say a bunch of shit to cause a reaction in the markets which will be fully negative for RoI.

After that we can focus on destroying RoI wholesome. First major death blow is a small legislative change to IFRS to treat royalty payments as dividends. That's 25% of Irish jobs and half of her GDP gone. Ireland is a hostile tax evasion-enabler state. Britain can work with the United States and a minimum of 8 EU countries (easy) to push this forward and basically kill it off as a functioning society once the money runs out.

Anyone but Ní Riada. Should be kicked out of the party for saying she'd wear a poppy, makes a mockery out of what my ancestors fought for.

No she shouldnt. There is nothing wrong with wearing a poppy, nor an easter lilly for that matter.

You're half right, wearing an easter lily is okay.
Wearing a poppy to commemorate the terrorists who shot unarmed civil rights protestors dead in my grandfather's hometown? Don't think so.

It also honours dead soldiers in both world wars and if someone wants to wear it they can, its not sectarian in nature and just because someone wears it does not mean they are honouring every scum bag who did something bad to innocent people.

It also shows she is willing to reach out to other people and try and bridge gaps, same thing with Martin McGuinness meeting the Queen, or Mike Nesbitt saying he would vote nationalist as a cross community vote.

Yeah no thanks. I'd rather not have Irish Americans voicing their opinions on Ireland in the first place.

all the soldiers who fought in the 1st world war were victims of imperialism. We shouldn't commemorate them for being "brave" and going out for fighting, we should commemorate them for being slaves. The poppy honours all Commonwealth (imperialist) soldiers who died since the end of World War 1.
McGuinness was a traitor for meeting with her.

We might possibly be able to in the future, there is a draft legislation in works that if it is finalised and put into action could allow irish people in NI to vote in future presidential elections.

That'd be great. It would be a great boost for Sinn Fein if the North were allowed to vote as well. Though without a doubt Higgins will win convincingly this election.

Also yeah this, the majority of the "IRA" going about at this stage are a bunch of cunts who drop up shitty made pipe bombs in bins and under cars and when they get particularly brave kill a pair of unarmed soldiers going to collect a pizza or shoot a prison guard.

The others few going about, when they actually rear their heads, its usually to start kneecapping drug dealers.

You realise there is a succession protocol for the death of a monarch, right? Oldest child or closest relative and all.

And neither the Union, nor the Commonwealth is going to disintegrate because the monarch dies.

Australia is going to be a republic. Canada will do the same eventually. The only reason why Australia hasn’t become a republic is because Liz is still the monarch. Once chuck is in Australia is going to give the UK the finger
