Memory's and Random Thoughts

Postby Klorgia1 » Sat Sep 15, 2018 1:43 am

I didn't see a thread for this yet, and I felt it fit well here, so here goes.

For this thread, literally just post a memory or idea. It can be one, both, interesting, boring, weird, emotional, anything (including a comment about someone else's).

I'll start the engine up.

Just remembering adventure time, and its beautiful, bittersweet ending. Living so merrily

Also, I remember a month or two ago reading a book about Edward Snowden. It was quite biased towards the fellow, and personally, I agree with it (though not the method). Yet I feel swelled with pride for my nation that these defenses of illegal action can pick up so much steam. Honestly, this feels more like something that would come out of a nation like Russia, Iran or the Saudis. But the difference is that while that would be something told underground in the motherland, it is a major debate in mainstream politics. Even if it threatens the US government. Also, I think it would be interesting to see if people who feel what Snowden did was wrong feel the same way if its the same story in a different nation, to take away the bias. Or perhaps even make it an American rival. No one (sane) would say Nazi's monitoring Jews pre-holocaust was a matter of national defense. Yet take a story like Snowden's and the greater Patriot act, and everything changes.

So NS, what are your random Memories/Thoughts? Can't wait to hear 'em :)

I was about 13, rain was coming down really hard. There was this old warehouse that was abandoned that I used to sit in to get away from the everything. I went to a coffee shop little ways away, got me a hot chocolate and then I just sat in there watching the rain. Always made me happy

I remember thinking "I am going to remember this" at one point when I was young (maybe 6 or something), and I remember that moment. I don't know what I was doing before or after, but I remember being near the sofa, and how everything looked in that moment.

I remember I was getting a cup when I was six. I got the cup, walked into my bathroom, forgot what I was doing, and put the cup on my dresser.

It was so mundane, yet so odd.

Basic Training, part of Singapore's conscription.

Went to the bathroom in the middle of the night. Toilets are clean and decent, so thank goodness for that. As I was doing my business, my mind suddenly thought of this music from Earthbound's Giygas battle music. I suddenly had the chills, the bathroom was extra quiet, and I quickly did whatever I need to as fast as possible and hauled back to my bunk.

(To make things worse, there was this shower which I later found out that the button was stuck, so it would not retract back and shut off. I legitimately would think that someone was taking a shower... at 2 AM).

Another thing is on how I was not disturbed during my time on the island. There are obviously stories about haunted happenings, but my days there were fine - just your standard tiredness to expect from an army.

I was 4. I was eating a popsicle at the pool; it had melted onto my hand. A bee came to investigate, i tried to mess with it, it stung me.
My mother then told me I wasn’t crying, so therefore a bee did not, in fact, sting me.

I had to work through Superstorm Sandy taking down and then bringing up the communications systems so the subways can run.

Once, when I was really young, I remember everything being black. Then I literally opened my eyes. I look around. I was on a very comfortable staircase with blue cloth, and in my (now old) home in Hoboken. I was thinking how weird this was, and then my parents asked if I was okay. I said yes to Mommy and Daddy. I then thought it was weird how they knew my name, and I knew theirs. I did a bit more thinking, and decided to just see how things went, and walked down the stairs. I've had memories I can call upon since then. Sometimes, in real life, people think I'm making the story up. Sometimes, they find it amazing. I'm always a little cautious to tell it, but interested to see if anyone else had this.

Not a true memory, but rather something my mom told me happened when I was 2.

Mom had just started sending me to the church nursery. There was a reason she didn’t start sending me there until I was 2. There was a little boy in the nursery who had a horrible temper; he would scream, hit the nursery workers, and throw toys at other children. Nothing the workers did would stop him, and the parents didn’t really seem to care what their son did. Mom didn’t want me in there until she knew I could hold my own.

So, when I started going there, he started throwing toys at me. Finally I had enough.

One Sunday morning in the nursery, I watched him go in the closet where the toys were kept. While he was in there, I walked up to the door and shut it when the workers weren’t looking. He was locked in with no light, and he started crying, which made me laugh. And the harder he cried, the harder I laughed. When the workers realized what had happened, they moved me away from the door and tried everything they could to open it, but to no avail. The way the door was made resulted in it being almost impossible to open.

So one of the nursery workers went out to the sanctuary and tracked down my parents. She was laughing trying to explain it to them. She then went and found someone who could get the door unlocked and free the boy trapped inside. By the time service was over, everyone knew about me locking him in there and everyone was laughing about it.

Well, everyone except the boy’s parents.

Mom and dad then had to explain to me that locking people in closets is wrong. However the kid never threw toys at me again.

TL;DR: When I was 2 I locked a little boy in the church nursery closet and then proceeded to laugh at him.

When I was a lot younger (apparently I was two years old) I heard this song that made me laugh. That's all I really remember. What I was told is that the song was Blackbird by the Beatles. Apparently it was the first time I heard a song that wasn't a Christian song. Anyways, that's my earliest memory.

can't remember the first music i heard- but when...I saw Joy Division on Something Elsehttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FD2SfQJOK08, way back when, it was 'life changing'.

'life changing' - viewed things differently- whenever i mucked around with a bass- it always came out out jd influenced. Fortunately, the world was spared my ?talents? -as all i could write was riffs.

never a song- a metaphor for my life.

I often wonder if life is a grand story of good versus indifference and while so many people try hard at being better, that some others only reason for living is to be the guy who drives half the speed limit without knowing and stop someone else from an opportunity, just to keep the balance.

I remember when I was 3 my younger brother always wanted the lights on when he was asleep. So this one night we just had a war with me getting out of my bed and walking towards the light to turn it off only for my brother to turn it off.

This lasted about 20 minutes until I gave up and went to sleep and forgot about it the next day.

Interesting how I can remember this but not my (now ex) girlfriends name.
