Not sure I agree with the later. I think it has serious issues, and needs to decide if it cares more about image then it does the "sheep" under its care.

It already made that decision decades ago when it chose to protect abusers instead of outing and removing them. Too late to turn back now.

I mean, I'm Christian (agnostic and non-denominational, to be wholly specific); I believe Jesus Christ was Christ, I just don't necessarily agree with the idea he was a Messiah. In my view, he was a prophet who espoused moralistic views I agree with, regardless if the values he espoused actually coincide with an existing God or not.
