Capitalism is always the answer. Whenever there's a problem in capitalism, you just need some more capitalism. If the solution isn't capitalism, then it's not really a problem. If your capitalism gets damaged, you just need to throw some capitalism on it and get on with your life.

Yeah, our goalie definitely looked pretty kickass in comparison, especially after taking that hit.

Indeed - Howard showed why he's a Premier League keeper today.

But today's the day they celebrate the Queen's birthday!

And it's also a way they can avenge the infamous 1970 defeat!

It's a good thing I didn't bet on any English players, on a related note I hope Podolski scores tomorrow.

England are the best team in the group. Whether the best team has the most points and highest goal difference after three matches, however, is yet to be seen ;)

A question:

Why are so many ties happening in the World Cup?

*scratches head*

South Africa vs. Mexico...
Uruguay vs. France...
now, USA vs. England?

I suspect subterfuge. The obviously-superior England team threw the match to allow the US to stay in the running a bit longer. There's probably a shady deal involving illegal shares of ad revenue out there somewhere.

Which... still begs the question how are they the best team? They performed better than usual, sure. Doesn't stop them not being as good as England.

England are

Should be "is," not "are."

Since the team, for the purposes of what is being discussed here, acts as a single unit, it is a singular entity for the purposes of subject-verb agreement. It doesn't matter that it's made up of multiple people.

You wouldn't say "Bluth Corporation are a genius and an overall awesome person" just because I'm made up of trillions of cells, would you?

(couldn't resist the chance to needle an Englishman even further, sorry. All in good fun, of course)
