Got your PFY yet? ;)

The game tonight was a bit ruined by the sending off. Messi was sublime for the first goal though.

The sending off was poor indeed, as much as I hate RvP. He shouldn't have gotten himself on such a short leash, though, that first yellow was more than deserved. What a prick.

I'm not sure that Arsenal wins even at eleven men, though. Barca was the better team out there, and Arsenal was lucky to get on the score sheet at all.

No. If United, Barca, Madrid, Juve etc. are "big" clubs, Swansea certainly aren't medium. When was the last time you won anything, or played in the top flight?

Small medium?

I'm talking national scale, not continental. Obviously they are small continental wise. Very small.

And they were in the top flight - 81'. Beat Leeds 5-1, United 2-0 and generally curbstomped for fun.

Until they went down 1 or 2 seasons later

I think people are laughing about his attempt to pretend Gerrard falcon punched him rather than his leg injury. The leg injury WAS terrible, but what he did afterwards was pathetic.

20:0 shots. Arsenal's entire strategy was about going through by way of a draw, preferably a 0:0. Of course they wouldn't have won, they didn't want to, nor did they believe themselves to be able to. Barcelona was staggeringly superior before the yellow-red, and they were staggeringly superior after it - it changed exactly nothing whatsoever. Arsenal pretty much engaged in pray & play - without the playing part, that is.

The miracle isn't in Barcelona making it through, the miracle is in Arsenal losing only 3:1 in a game that, if one looks at possession, attempts to score, at barcelona's efforts at pressing and Arsenal's near-inability to complete passes, should've been 6:0.

Irrelevant. Again, an otherwise interestinf European tie is ruined by the fact that UEFA referees are uniquely incompetent.

Dynamo Kiev Vs Man city tomorrow ITV4

Just as long as we can scrape a draw. With the strongest side we can field at the moment, we have a good chance of beating them in the replay. Just as long as Mancini plays Baliotelli-Tevez, or Tevez-Dzeko, with Silver playing CAM. I reckon we can just about draw.

And then, to make things worse, they're increasing season ticket prices by (apparently) 6.5%. I'm just wondering what would happen if Wenger didn't put so much faith in the youth system.
Please note that Mid Lothian is based on fantasy. Any references to anything/one/where that exists is completely coincidential.
Frequently used abbreviations: HoS = Head of State; HoG = Head of Government; ML = Mid Lothian; KSS - Kate Stephens-Smith.
Fancy an embassy in ML? Click me for details. (PS - I'll return the favour.)
I am usually rewriting stuff about Mid Lothian - just because it's true today isn't necessarily true tomorrow.

Warning - Full-time Grammar Nazi at work. You have been warned. (I guess that's due to my mum being an English teacher. Also, don't use masculine words to describe me - my name is Rebecca, which is clearly a feminine name.)

I had a dream that Manchester United and Barcelona were playing each other in the finals of some tournament. My dream was so realistic that everybody was diving for no reason and the refs caused Manchester United to lose

Houllier- INSERT INSULT HERE. What a load of INSERT SWEAR WORD COMBO HERE. Wolves? At home? HOULLIER OUT! I also blame the treacherous O'Neill and the layabout players who now want out because they're playing crap and so think they're too good for us.

Blackpool seriously cannot hold a lead, ever... We're clearly not Premier League quality, there have been a load of games this season where we've been ahead and the other team have come back to draw, or win. We must of lost the majority of our points from being in a winning position..
