Yeah, but against Australia. Playing half the game with only 10 players.
As soon as they get an opponent that puts some effort into interrupting the build-up from the back into those attacks they might be totally helpless, for all we know.

Though Germany killed the game even before that.

True.

Me too... It should have been yellow - but that wouldn't have made any difference in the game. Germans killed the game before Half Time.

Fairly pleased with the result, but not getting too excited yet.

On Cahill's red, it was definitely at least a yellow. Awful tackle; missed the ball completely and ploughed through the German player from behind.

Yes.

Unless of course it's not OK for a woman to ask for a female to ask for a female officer to carry out body checks. In which case, the answer would be no.

Are you serious, He knocked him down and then kicked him. How did you miss that? It's sheer frustration on Cahill's part.. he can't control his temper.

Londim wrote:True. Serbia should provide a much stronger defence and could be capable of holding back the Germans.

Those quick, diagonal passes are hard to deal with for any defense though. Best thing the Germans did.

I reckon the Serbs just need to press much earlier and not let the Germans to a position where they can put through the combinations around the penalty area. We'll see.

Other than the play acting by several German players (who deservedly got yellows for it), a good result. A shame for Australia though, this now screwed their goal difference, and so effectively they must win on points, ie beat Serbia and Ghana. Probably too much for them.

ahhhh right I see what you mean now...I don't think it was deliberate ...I don't think it justified a red...yellow...yes. It was a really clumsy tackle...guess we'll just have to agree to disagree...

I'm blinded by rage from 2006 still... those cheating italians! It was very clumsy and..... he probably did act without thinking sticking his foot back out there.. and that was a bad risk to take. Yellow card as long as it wasn't intentional after looking at it a few more times, I dont think it was.

I find it strange that every match today had a red card. Grant the first two were fair but the Cahill one was dodgy IMO.

Hmmm.

There's scattered reports of a disturbance outside the stadium in Durban, scuffles between police and protesting security workers.

In my opinion the Germany match was well entertaining: yes, there is still a lot of matches to come but at last I feel the tournament is going somewhere at last, after a series of draws.

Aye. I picked Germany for the win on Saturday though...defeating England.

A lot of key matches havent been played, correct. If Cameroon beats Japan and Ivory Coast beats Portugal, things get very interesting.
