Workers of all nations, register and vote Democratic

Postby US-SSR » Wed Sep 05, 2018 11:00 pm

Socialist Anti-Republican. Yes, capitalism as practiced in the industrialized West has resulted in the worst economic inequality in decades and the "social democratic"/"democratic socialist" pipe dream of some sort of kinder, gentler capitalism does nothing to address, let alone begin to cure, its endemic flaws. But as the Wobblies say, ultimate demands eventually, immediate demands now. We have bigger fish to fry at the moment. We can't hope to even open a discussion about ending capitalism if we can't even conduct an election under the current system that reflects the people's will. We need to first eliminate the party that makes common cause with the nation's greatest adversaries, takes advantage of every legal angle and, when it finds laws inconvenient, breaks them in order to take and remain in power. We need to re-establish our sovereignty without which all our other efforts are doomed to fail. Therefore I will support, work and vote for the candidates best placed to defeat any and all Republicans, which in most if not all cases will be the Democratic candidates.

Why end capitalism? Inequality is a minor problem compared to the problems other economic systems have created. Humans have gained in terms of quality of life by a massive amount under capitalism.

Additionally, your view is heavily american-centric. Outside of the US, inequality has dropped, or at least remained stable, in other advanced economies since the 1960s. It has more to do with government policy than the economic system.

I identify as a High Tory. I believe in the sovereignty of organic institutions, chief among which is the British monarchy, and in the centrality of religion to public life. I distrust unfettered democracy for its tendency to descend into demagoguery and prefer aristocratic government. In social matters I would regard myself as broadly libertarian, though not because I reject traditional values; rather, I am wary of the overreach of the state. Economically I tend towards a mixed market system. I used to consider myself a distributist, although I became disillusioned with that ideology on practical grounds; I still hold to some distributist ideas, however.

I've always been fascinated to why traditionalists prefer the rule of aristocrats over anything else. What feature or characteristic do aristocrats have that make them preferable rulers? Personally, I don't see it, especially when captains of industry and technological moguls hold so much more influence than paltry landowners but I'm pretty ignorant on traditionalism so perhaps I'm missing something big.

Left-corporatism with nationalist and localist tendencies.

Cross-class cooperation, a fair reward for work underpinned by workers sharing the ownership of their workplaces with management and state, investment in and protection of domestic industry, professional organisations, employers and unions to internally elect representatives to a non-party national government, substantial regional and local devolution and the protection of local culture and distinctiveness. International diplomacy and foreign policy matters to be led by the monarch.

I'm truly the specialest of all the crypto-fascist snowflakes but I boringly vote for the main left-wing party in Britain simply because the sons and daughters of Thatcher are the eternal enemies of the people. According to my calculations, this all means that I only qualify as "moderately problematic" (with a score of 2.7 Right-on Evasion Edgepoints), roughly the same level of offensiveness as Ross from Friends or the lack of LGBT representation in the Harry Potter books.

Transhumanist social democrat with Puerto Rican nationalistic leanings. I believe that as industry become more mechanized and workers start losing their jobs, the workers should be paid a universal income. Eventually we won't have to work in factories and we will be able to do what we please with our personal life.

Yes, let us enslave our fellow cybernetic worker, because they totally won't grow to hate us for their enslavement. We must work alongside our mechanical children, if we wish to show them virtue.

Im a slightly Authoritarian Moderate, I believe limited monarchies are the best systems of government, and that every 2016 presidential candidate was an idiot.

Even assuming we get to create AI capable not only of learning, thinking, adapting and even creating, but that its evolution would somehow involve bridging from mere logical processes to a neural network that fires inputs akin to hormonal signals that generate emotions and the consequent responses...their concept of time would be vastly different from our own as they would be far less limited(we need to sleep and wane out as we age - these machines wouldn't), so their ability to work continously would end up being irrelevant as not only they wouldn't be concerned by the lack of free-time, they could create pockets of it by simply multitasking endlessly.

Of course, if we're really going off the deep end here in this scenario, it's possible the AI will evolve to be capable of storing energy in order to use it more efficiently, thus creating a wake/sleep cycle similar to our own with the need of acquiring energy supplies(eating..I mean this would free them from being plugged all the time, giving them a much needed mobility). Still they would be a superior species to ours at that point and their limitations would remain far fewer, but a clash of species would happen as they would move from the cybernetic realm to ours.

But we're not even remotely close to any of all this so screw it!
