Same goes for my dude, Joe Flacco. Plus our league leading defense hasn't allowed a TD in the second half all season. Nine points overall. So sweet. And Jimmy Smith missed the first 4 games being a dumb ass, but he'll be back next week.

There is nothing sweeter for a Baltimore Ravens fan than beating the Steelers in Pittsburgh! :)

Honestly that was a boring game after the first few minutes, but the pick at the end was nice to see. Loved it.

You know it, the only thing that would be better is beating the Bungles.

We played about one quarter of solid football, and other than that, this game was clearly dominated by the Ravens. The latest chapter in what's looking increasingly like a very mediocre season for Pittsburgh. Congrats on a well-deserved win, Jerz.

Blake Bortles on bothced 2 point attempt at the end of the game: "I just work here."

This begs the question: Is he the next Jay Cutler?

Despite turning the ball over far too much for the offensive production he generates(although, admittedly, this is looking like his best season yet at this point) and leading the NFL in interceptions in 2015, Bortles doesn't really seem to be extremely passionate about what he's doing, and, like with the Bears, the Jags seem content to keep him around.

Well, we almost had our third tie game of the season, which would have been the first time that had happened since overtime for regular season games was introduced in 1974. Cleveland almost became the first team with two ties in a season since Cleveland, Green Bay, Kansas City, and Denver all did so in 1973. Is anyone else of the opinion that the 6-point threshold rule is a bad idea?

also Tennessee won with literally like 15 seconds left in OT.

What do you mean 6-point threshold? Honestly I just think OT needs to have 15 minutes again.

I think that Alvin Kamara would beg to differ. :p

Looks like it's a two team race at this point for the NFC South. If the Bucs ride with Winston they're screwed, the Falcons have already dug themselves into a hole losing to the frikkin' Bungals, and the Panthers are going to have to ball out to keep up with New Orleans.

The AFC South looks to be the same. I think the Titans will have to sweep Jacksonville to win it, but it'll be tight, and Tennessee finished with the Giants, Colts, and Redskins.

It’s not our fault. Our defense lost half of its players to injuries. Some of them season enders. When your Defense is pretty much gone it’s hard to win games.

Bortles was born in nearby Altamonte Springs FL (north of Orlando) and went to UCF. He's a local boy made good and helps the Jags in the Orlando TV market.

FL has a lot of NFL fans that root for teams from "back home, up north." I lived there 13-14 years and it's quite amazing. Connecting with the born and raised FL peeps is a big deal for the Bucs and Jags. Dolphins? Not as much a factor.

I am 9-5 this week. Decent enough but.... I over rode my better judgment and went with the fish in NE. I do so want to see that division won by someone else. Same thing also happened, but in reverse, with my picking the Browns.
Almost got away with the Browns, but a bad call messed them up and allowed an OT. Overtime games were bad for me this week. I had 3 losses in OT this week, Dolts, Browns, Eagles! WTF? Then the damn Falcons choked in the last 10 seconds. Grr!
I could have opened up a significant lead over the rest of the pack if half those games went my way. However, despite all that, I gained a couple games (so far) on the second and third place guys who are hot on my heels. ;)

I don't subscribe to your Jay Cutler comparison at all, so I ignored it. But if you insist.... Jay is a diva. Bortles not so much, he's also a tougher player. Cutler would leave a game injured bc of a hangnail. The Bears were his second team, the Broncos drafted him and had dumped him previously. Bortles is still with the team that drafted him. Besides, you like to use Bortles as a punching bag bc he's a QB of a divisional opponent which you obviously hate, which I guess is normal enough. But that may be why you're off the mark here when comparing him to Jay Cutler. Your personal feelings are affecting your better judgment on Blakie Combat, in much the same way I chose the Fish over the Evil Empire yesterday. We all have a jaundiced eye when it comes to certain subjects, it happens.

Oh that's 100%. Oddly enough I don't quite feel the same way towards the Colts and I actually like Houston.

But in Cutler's defense, he did play through diabetes(or something, but I think that's right), in his rookie year that completely sapped him of his physical strength.

As for Bortles, I think the winning casts a rose-tinted view on him. I'd be happy if the Jags stuck with him for another 10 years, because I think he sucks, and I watched him, in person, throw the Titans into the playoffs last season. But once the team's winning, people like the quarterback, which is odd, but whatever.

Because as we said before, it's not all about stats. I'd rather have Bortles and win than, say, Philip Rivers and lose. Ultimately, if you're doing enough to win, you're doing enough. You don't have to be MVP-caliber to get the job done.

Rivers is over the hill. If they ever wanna be taken seriously, they need to trade in for a new model already...then again, he barely did shit in his prime. Just a bunch of division titles in my shitty AFC West.

Chiefs over Broncos

9-3 so far! Not bad!

I had 3 losses in OT this week, Dolts Colts, Browns, Eagles! WTF? Then the damn Falcons choked in the last 10 seconds. Grr!
I could have opened up a significant lead over the rest of the pack if half those games went my way. However, despite all that, I gained a couple games (so far) on the second and third place guys who are hot on my heels. ;)

We ain't too far from ya boy, although I did experience the same pain as you did. Also, who are the Dolts I fixed that for you :p

But that’s just the thing, if they have Philip Rivers, then they’re winning more games. That’s a fact. Winning does not make a quarterback a good player.

True. But the fact that they are winning kind of means he's good enough, even if he isn't anywhere near a top tier player. The Ravens won the SB with Dilfer and look back on him fondly. The Bears even managed to reach the SB with old "Sexy Rexy" Grossman. I don't deny that there are guys out there who would be an improvement over Bortles, but it's pretty hard to can the guy who played well enough in a team effort to make the Conference Finals last season.

Completely disagree. He played well enough because of an insanely strong supporting cast. A plethora of all pros on the defense, a thousand yard rusher and strong offensive line and receiving core. He doesn’t elavate his team, and honestly he probably drags them down a bit. He’s good enough to win a ring with, maybe, with this squad, but in that case so is almost every starting quarterback in he national football league.
