The Pillsbury Throwboy is gone at age 38?
Way too young for an athlete to succumb to heart and kidney disease.
WTF.
Damn.

Condolences to his family.

Well that sucks. That dude was still super loved here in Kentucky.

Yeah fellow Kentuckian here, he's ultra popular here. Truly saddening to see what happened to him over the years.

Dolphins DT Kendrick Norton was in a car crash and sustained serious injuries. Unfortunately, the doctors had to amputate his left arm.

Baker Mayfield got married. Maybe that will keep him distracted enough that the Browns somehow don't win the AFC North this season :P

Hmm. The Texans are going without a General Manager for the 2019 season. The GM responsibilities will be split among existing personnel.

Hmm...more people to make mistakes...but more people that would have to agree to a roster move...potentially good? :?:

I'm glad to see there's still an NFL thread after spending a few years in the wilderness :)

Lock won't sign without 'QB Premium'. Bitch, you ain't Kyler Murray. You were the 42nd pick. Sign and shut up.

I know that makes Flacco comfortable.

The real stupid here is the CBA, making young players wages so shit compared to the rest of the league.

But why don't they deserve to have the same pay scale as veterans?

They gotta prove it still at the pro level. Earn it. Too much $$$ is not an incentive to achieve more. It's like capitalism, dude.

Totally agree. Perhaps a happy medium, though, could be incentives for pro bowl/ AP all pro seasons? If you give them the same pay scale as others, then for one, veterans don’t make as much, but secondly, the draft’s value would significantly decrease.

Also: remember that a good number of teams give their guys contract extensions before they’re needed in order to keep their star players happy.

One team is happy to pay Eli Manning like a star qb.

Honestly rookies need upfront money and guarantees so they don't tear their acl and get thrown out in a dumpster.

Honestly I would just say pay me the minimum but buy me a two-bedroom house and pay for 100% of my medical expenses.

Agree. Otherwise you get worthless players lile JaMarcus Russell back a few years getting paid ridiculous cash to throw bad passes all day.
