Interesting tidbit: Joe Burrow has thrown the ball 97 times in two starts. He's produced 506 yards with that, at 5.2 yards per attempt, 8.5 yards per completion. He would've been below the 32nd ranked 2019 passer in both categories, Mitchell Trubisky, by .9 yards and 1.1 yards, respectively, both of which are pretty significant margins, looking at the table.

That said, I think he looked good. Never panicked, which I've seen a lot of rookies do. He consistently keeps looking downfield for the throw while scrambling and picks up a few yards on the ground when the throw isn't there, or he knows its too much of a gamble. The announcers criticized him on one throw, where they said had it been on target it would've been picked (I think it was a curl or an out to A.J. Green, but honestly I think it just needed to be more of a loft than a line drive. The receiver, I think Green, got a hand on it, and the DB was in the line but not even close to being able to get a hand on it.

He does need to get a bit more air under the ball in a lot of scenarios. He's trying to make everything a bullet pass, which makes it tough for his pass catchers to high point the ball. I was impressed, not surprised, but impressed.

P.S.: Joe Burrow currently leads the league in passing with 509 yards. Baker Mayfield is third at 408. 2nd? Matt Ryan, with 450 yards in week one.

Burrow actually did really well, considering. His offensive line, the defensive line, and a couple of the receivers, on the other hand, were the ones who fucked it up.

Currently watching Broncos at Steelers.

Lock was hit in backfield and fumbled the ball away. The way Drew got up and let his right arm hang (though it was subtle) gives me the impression he's sustained a slight shoulder separation or maybe a broken clavicle. I hope not, bc he looked pretty good until this happened.
