The West won the world not by the superiority of its ideas or values or religion … but rather by its superiority in applying organized violence. Westerners often forget this fact; non-Westerners never do.

The most fundamental problem of politics is not the control of wickedness but the limitation of righteousness.

The only question is, to what now? Rumor has it the Warriors are being heavily considered. If you ask me, a combination of the Warriors and Red Tails would work: the Red Tail Warriors. That airplane logo would (hopefully) be sick.

I love that the boycott NFL people are back to their bullshit on social media. I love that they have to announce, multiple times across multiple news posts, that they are going to be boycotting. It's almost to the effect of me wanting to say "This isn't an Airport, you don't have to announce your departure." And it's mainly old white guys who are doing it, too.

I'm a bit surprised that the Redskins will actually change their name. I thought Dan Snyder would just be "reviewing" their name and other possible names, and keep the name when the outrage dies down, and hope everyone will forget.

In solidarity with Ukraine, I will be censoring the letters Z and V from my signature. This is -ery much so a big change, but it should be a -ery positi-e one. -olodymyr -elensky and A-o- continue to fight for Ukraine while the Russians are still trying to e-entually make their way to Kharki-, -apori-h-hia, and Kry-yi Rih, but that will take time as they are concentrated in areas like Bakhmut, -uledar, and other areas in Donetsk. We will see Shakhtar play in the Europa League but Dynamo Kyi- already got eliminated. Shakhtar managed to play well against Florentino Pere-'s Real Madrid who feature superstars like -inicius, Ben-ema, Car-ajal, and -al-erde. Some prominent Ukrainian players that got big transfers elsewhere include Oleksander -inchenko, Illya -abarnyi, and Mykhailo Mudryk.

Sure, but they'd like a deadly virus touching their face a lot less if they actually thought about it before opening their mouths to bitch about it. A few players will feel a claustrophobic reaction to the mask and have to learn to get past that feeling. For the high salaries they make playing a game, it's well worth their efforts to do so. I mean, how many years can you earn a salary measured in millions of dollars, even if it's minimum rookie pay (about $0.5 million). Not many. Why chance losing your spot at the goldmine?

I wonder though, what kind of masks the officials will wear? Hmmm?

You mean the healthiest people in the world? These dudes won't even realize they have it. The only conceivable risk (and I won't go to much into it, you know how I feel on this), is them spreading it to other people. Even the linemen are in incredible shape, believe it or not. And before someone throws out that having a higher BMI is a risk factor, that's because most people with a high BMI are out of shape and fat as hell. They aren't approaching a sub 5 40 and would have a heart attack if they tried playing a professional football game over the course of a quarter. (I've seen that, in an MMA fight, but same concept)

I haven't seen anything saying that they will actually be forced to wear the masks, however. It's certainly a possibility. I'm with Watt though. Those visors are miserable. Fog up constantly, they're hot, and having them be this large will only accentuate the problem. I don't think its worth not playing (and he won't boycott the season as a result), but it's gonna suck.

Houston Texans star J.J. Watt has no interest in playing if the NFL makes players wear face shields in 2020. Watt, 31, told Pro Football Talk he wouldn’t be on the field if face shields are required.

Sounds to me he's saying he's out if he has to wear a mask.

What they really mean is "I am such a pathetic snowflake that I cannot handle being confronted with views that I personally do not agree with".
I mean, seriously, what is wrong with them? Just have any actor, singer, celebrity or whomever say anything these MAGA types don't agree with and just look at the social media accounts of the celebrity in question. Nothing but an endless stream of MAGA snowflakes complaining and bitching non stop for days on end.

Casual reminder that they were the very people who told us "f*** your feelings" back in 2016 when youknowwho was elected POTUS. Seems they can dish it out but can't take it.

Is Watt also going to opt out of being paid?

Sure, they might be healthy, but not everyone they come into contact with outside of football is. They might easily withstand Covid-19, but if only one of them transmits it to one person who isn't a prime physical specimen there could be terrible consequences. Watt is being selfish here, and my estimation of him just went down a notch.

Inverted Flag Law: US Code Title 4 Section 8 Paragraph (a): The flag should never be displayed with the union down, except as a signal of dire distress in instances of extreme danger to life or property.
The United States of America has been in a state of dire distress since November 8, 2016. Flying the flag upside down is not only our right, it is our duty!
Make Maine Massachusetts again!

Dude. The quote in the article from Watt was very clear that he wasn’t confirming he wouldn’t play. And I’m not getting into the COVID too much, which is what I said. Not gonna comment on the rest either.

Houston Texans star J.J. Watt has no interest in playing if the NFL makes players wear face shields in 2020. Watt, 31, told Pro Football Talk he wouldn’t be on the field if face shields are required.

Sounds to me he's saying he's out if he has to wear a mask.
"How you feel on this" has no relation to the factual reality of the situation. Listen, Ran, do yourself a favor and don't go to any Covid-19 parties trying to prove something, okay? You might end up in an ICU bed and your last words could be "I made a mistake. I thought it was a hoax." We want to protect everyone out there. Don't you?

Is Watt also going to opt out of being paid?

Sure, they might be healthy, but not everyone they come into contact with outside of football is. They might easily withstand Covid-19, but if only one of them transmits it to one person who isn't a prime physical specimen there could be terrible consequences. Watt is being selfish here, and my estimation of him just went down a notch.

Both sides have a tendency to boycott/demonize things or people when their views are openly in conflict with those of the company, brand, etc. As a conservative (on most issues), my stance here is that I love football too much to let it upset me. Most of my circle is the same way, I can think of 1-2 people who are upset enough to not watch.

I mentioned the transmission to people who aren’t players thing.

What they really mean is "I am such a pathetic snowflake that I cannot handle being confronted with views that I personally do not agree with".
I mean, seriously, what is wrong with them? He should have said his head is too big to fit in there. Everyone would have laughed, nodded and moved on.
Donald Trump has no clue as to what "insuring the domestic tranquility" means

He's been close to Bill O'Brien for too long, that man is a hack ;)
Inverted Flag Law: US Code Title 4 Section 8 Paragraph (a): The flag should never be displayed with the union down, except as a signal of dire distress in instances of extreme danger to life or property.
The United States of America has been in a state of dire distress since November 8, 2016. Flying the flag upside down is not only our right, it is our duty!
Make Maine Massachusetts again!

Derrick Henry got a 4 year, 50,000,000 extension.

Not sure how I feel about this. On one hand, he’s a great back, and it’s below the going rate for a guy of his caliber.(that being arguably the best in the NFL) plus, he got a much lighter workload in his first two seasons rushing as the second man behind Demarco Murray, so he might have a bit more longevity if that allowed him some recuperation after his heavy workload at Alabama.

On the other hand...David Johnson, Todd Gurley, Devonta Freeman, Le’Veon Bell (although I really think he can still be an all pro), Jerrick McKinnon. These guys just haven’t done well after getting paid the last few years, wear and tear or less resistance to injury, whatever you wanna call it. I hope they didn’t just make a huge mistake. But I do like Henry, so I’m happy he’s getting paid for his sake.
