I was not happy with our draft but the more I look at it, the more I realize it was necessary.

A.J. Epenesa: Solid Pick, will do great in NFL, Tremendous 2nd round value

Zach Moss: Frank Gore Style Runner, perfect balance with Devin

Gabe Davis: Very confused at first, but learned his biggest issue is learning NFL routes due to the UCF offense not being NFL like. But he is also 6'3", a solid 3 inches above our next tallest (Diggs), and 5 inches taller than our highest on the roster last year (John Brown)

Jake Fromm: I was initially very confused by Jake Fromm State Farm, but as I thought about it, he is literally the polar opposite of Josh Allen. As someone with previous competitive sport experience at a high-school level, I understand the need for someone to compete against to make yourself better, an enemy per-se. I hope this inspires Josh to work as hard as possible to get accurate with touch passes and learn from someone younger than him.

Tyler Bass: As much as I hate to say it since Hauschka is my favorite Bill in a long time, we need a kicking competition. I feel like this threat will make Hauschka prevail for 1-2 more seasons, and hopefully retire. In these seasons I think he might do really well while we keep Bass on the practice squad or as a kickoff specialist. Then Im excited for Bass time.

Isaiah Hodgins: Very similar background to Gabe Davis, and an Inch taller. I feel a training camp battle brewing between these two. We can have more recievers than last year as we are having 2 less RB's and 1 less TE.

Dane Jackson: Dont know much about him, but him, Josh Norman, and Levi Wallace competing for CB2 is gonna be exciting to watch.

On other news:

Fameis Jameis goes to New Orleans and Sean Payton will probably make him an offensive machine gun. But also there is more alcohol in New Orleans than Tampa. Uber drivers beware.

Patriots draft a former Neo Nazi kicker. What else is new

The Aints have signed Jameis Winston to a one year deal.

Just watch when they play the bucs that they go up by like 30 and put Winston in at garbage time to throw 3 touchdowns.

Panthers stocked up on.... defensive guys. Geeze all defense for Carolina.

Also, your friendly reminder the Jaguars drafted a punter before Russell Wilson. A punter who doesn't even play for them anymore.

Sounds like another season of McCaffrey being their entire offense.

Pretty happy with these, I don't really understand Swift in the second round but you can never have too many RBs. Considering we had quite a lot of gaps on defence, it remains to be seen if this is enough though. No linebackers unfortunately.

Considering Kerryon Johnson isn't the healthiest guy on the field, it's nice to have someone else as a backup. If Johnson doesn't do so well, then Swift can easily take over.

Sean Payton wanted the Bucs' playbook obviously and he's gambling that Jameis' eye surgery will make him better

It's not that simple though. Teddy wanted to be a starter, New Orleans was more of a place for him to back up Brees and get back his confidence, savy, etc. There was a good chance Brees wouldn't last as long as he has, and that was part of Teddy being there, and it's part of Winston being there. They get a high upside QB who can step in and play backup. That said, I despise Jameis and he sucks, but it's a smart move.

Jameis "Crab Legs" Winston? Jameis "Eat a W" Winston? Jameis "Florida State Frat Boy" Winston? That Jameis Winston?

Chiefs have been getting some pretty varied draft grades, usually around the B or C range. However, there are reasons why this might turn out to be an A draft in 3 years.

1) RB Clyde Edwards-Helair, LSU. Many so called experts grading the picks poo-pooed the idea of taking Clyde in the 1st round (but they had no problem with drafting him in the 2nd round, which was basically a pick later since the Chiefs drafted at #32). The experts look at the stats like from Next Gen that say that RBs don't necessarily improve an offense's productivity that terribly much. Likewise, a lot of draft experts didn't like that the Chiefs chose Clyde instead of Swift, Taylor or even Dobbins.

However, Edwards-Helair is a very shifty RB that has great hands, is a great receiver, and can make usually at least 2 defenders miss on sick juke moves in space. He runs precise routes. And Andy Reid's teams love to pass predominantly, preferring RB screens to actual runs. But Clyde can still run between the tackles as well. The one player in NFL history that Edwards-Helair reminds me of most is Barry Sanders, albeit Edwards-Helair is not quite as fast.

And since none of the Chiefs' RBs last year got over 400 yards, there was room for competition and improvement. I'm not taking anything away from how Damien Williams played in the postseason, since he really came through for us. But he just didn't have great vision, missed a lot of holes, got there too late, that sort of thing. Williams is the kind of back that gets better the more touches he gets. Edwards-Helair, on the other hand, looks like he could make chunk yards on any play. Plus, he could quite easily take a few snaps at a receiver's position, and make defenses have to second guess.

Very solid pick in my opinion. Definitely worth an A. Guys like Mel Kiper who graded this a C don't understand Andy Reid's offensive system and instead, tried to grade this pick as if we were going to just use him as a generic, "3 yards and a cloud of dust" RB.

I'll do more on the Chiefs' other picks in another post.

I have IRL reacted now to Jameis being signed by throwing a tissue box and screaming into a pillow. And then kicking that pillow.

I'm uh...I'm doing well, thanks for asking!

That's how any fan should act if their favorite team signed Jameis "Turnover Machine" Winston.

I think Mickey Loomis got the bug and it fried his brain. I know Sean Payton had it.

Dont worry, if anyone can fix him its Sean Payton and Drew Brees.

Also you can say the Bills never won something but we won both the 1964 AND 1965 AFL Championships with a future Congressman and Secretary of Housing and Urban Development as QB.

The 1965 AFL Championship, for those who want to spend an hour watching below average football and Jack Kemp throw to WR Billy Joe

More Accomplished in the AFL than the Pats. HA!

It's not like Winston is suddenly gonna start over Brees. He's just the backup. Plenty of game left in Brees before you gotta worry about that.

Im excited to see him vs. Taysom once Brees retires. I know Jameis is 1 year but I think he will stick with them a bit longer and they have Taysom for 2 more now. Can Taysom prove to be a Quarterback? Or will Doctor W crab legs prevail. Tune in next year to find out
