The Ravens won the SB with Dilfer and look back on him fondly. The Bears even managed to reach the SB with old "Sexy Rexy" Grossman. I don't deny that there are guys out there who would be an improvement over Bortles, but it's pretty hard to can the guy who played well enough in a team effort to make the Conference Finals last season.
Completely disagree. He played well enough because of an insanely strong supporting cast. A plethora of all pros on the defense, a thousand yard rusher and strong offensive line and receiving core. He doesn’t elavate his team, and honestly he probably drags them down a bit. He’s good enough to win a ring with, maybe, with this squad, but in that case so is almost every starting quarterback in he national football league.
And perhaps one of the reasons the Jags can have such a supporting cast is because he isn't some elite QB gobbling up $20M of their cap space.
