Not when you have Bell holding out, they won't get there. While I do see the Steelers and potentially the Falcons making the playoffs, I don't see either being Superbowl contenders.

Injuries usually thin the field. I always want to see what that does before having lofty expectations of just any team.

I’m really hoping Antonio Brown breaks some sort of receiving record this season. I feel like he’s going to at some point in his career, and this could be the year. The Steelers won’t be great, but man can Brown ball.

LATE in the third. Wasn't a phenomenal game though. But god, Julio would've had a 200 yard night if they hadn't taken that catch away. Foles looked off, and I wasn't too suprised there, but MATT RYAN. What happened? I never thought he was amazing, even after the MVP, but he's a really good Q normally, and he's lucky he didn't toss three picks with McCloud, I think it was, dropping a pair of passes. I mean, Jones was their engine, Matt Ryan could've had a replacement-level guy step in, honestly.

Honestly, for a few years I've been saying Julio's the #1, but after last season, I think AB is the end-all-be-all in terms of best of our era. Julio's never been the red-zone weapon that he, by looks, seems to be, and scoring three TDs last year? Sheesh. Aren't their 2015 seasons #2 and #3 in respectively in terms of yards in a single season, too? They're both incredible. My only issue, and this goes for both of them, is that if I'm FEEDING you that football 100+ times a season, I expect a few more touchdowns, but they're both amazing to watch.

holy smokes, you wanna talk about fantasy points, thank god Matt Bryant missed that kick. Already gave my matchup 8.

Here's a fun one though: WORST 10 starting QBs in the NFL going into week 1.

10: Joe Flacco
-I've heard a lot this offseason, and his supporting cast has improved, but I don't see Flacco doing very well, and he hasn't the past couple of years.
9: Nick Foles
-Guy was a backup for a reason. Admittedly, I'm kind of cheating after last night's game.
8: Pat Mahommes
-I honestly think he could push for 22 picks
7: Dak Prescott
-Decent game manager at best. Extremely overrated.
6: Eli Manning
-Turns it over too much, even if I do like him.
5: Case Keenum
-Nope. Great story, but he sucks imo. Had a good year last season.
4: Blake Bortles

3: Ryan Tannehill
-overrated, had one good year and I think that was it.
2: Mitchell Trubisky

1: Nathan Peterman

(I'll watch the video later)

Ah but injuries hurt the Eagles too last year and they won the Superbowl. I guess it depends on who gets hurt and how everyone can adjust, and whether backups/rookies can prove themselves.

Foles can be arguably be considered the best backup QB despite his ups and downs. Other than that, this list is spot on.

I figured he hurt himself. It will hurt the Falcons but, they have strong backups I hear.

It was Bryant though kicking. He is number three, after all, and that's who kicked the ball. Unless you're talking about the guy who placed the ball for him to kick?

I think the Steelers are one of the most all around talented teams in the league. Their offense is elite, even without Bell (who we can hope will be playing the second half of the season, even if he's being a baby now). The defense isn't quite as good, but it's improved a lot. Playoffs should be no issue. The Super Bowl is within reach, but someone else is gonna have to beat New England. Tomlin doesn't have the first clue what to do against them.

This shit again, Ran? You don't fully seem to understand what constitutes a good QB to fans. I've said this before, it's winning championships. That's what matters most to fans of NFL teams. We want to be winners.
QBs #10 + #9 + #6 = 4 super Bowl wins in only 4 SB games. Contrast that with all the QBs of the Titans/Oilers (founded 1960) franchise with ZERO super bowl wins. All of their QBs failed at their ultimate mission, winning an NFL championship.

Just for the fun, lmao, below are The Worst 11 NFL teams to have been a fan of the past 51 years, (teams with a minimum of 20 years in NFL):

11. Minnesota Vikings - 4 NFC titles since 1966.
10. Buffalo Bills - 4 AFC titles since 1966.
9. Atlanta Falcons - 2 NFC titles since 1966.
8. Cincinnati Bengals - 2 AFC titles since 1966.
7. Houston Oilers/Tennessee Titans - One AFC title since 1966.
6. San Diego/Los Angeles Chargers - One AFC Title since 1966.
5. St. Louis/Arizona Cardinals - One NFC Title since 1966.
4. Carolina Panthers - One NFC Title since 1995.
3. Jax Jaguars - Zero AFC Titles since 1995.
2. Detroit Lions - Zero NFC titles since 1966.
1. Cleveland Browns - It takes 2 different Browns teams or this disaster which is why they edge out the Lions for the top spot. Zero titles since 1966.

The Houston Texans are a tad too new to place on the list just yet.
Congrats to the Philadelphia Eagles for escaping this sorry list with their first super bowl championship title this past season.
*The NFC & AFC did not exist before 1970, but it didn't matter for these hapless teams. None of them made it to any of the first four super bowls.

Any questions?

What the common fan thinks has absolutely NOTHING to do with how good a quarterback actually is though. I gotta say though, I think I'd put the Bills higher. That stretch of four AFC titles...oof. Doesn't quite take into account the pain of those losses, methinks.

holy smokes, you wanna talk about fantasy points, thank god Matt Bryant missed that kick.

Why is Dak on this list? I mean, hasn’t he led the Cowboys to 2 playoff seasons so far? And Flacco has a Super Bowl ring! ELI MANNING HAS 2.

NICK FOLES WON THE SUPER BOWL LAST YEAR AND HAS BROUGHT HIS TEAM TO PLAYOFFS TWICE NOW.

Dak never led them to a playoff game, and he's only been in one. He's the most overrated Q in football. Flacco and Eli having rings doesn't mean they're still great players. Their production over the past few years. Flacco was very good in 2014, and after that, he's been garbage. Give me the total stats if you want, watching him is painful. I will say he had a hell of a game in 2016, can't remember who he was playing, but I think he put up something like 440 yards and 4 scores? Overall, he just hasn't been good. Eli was good in 2015, 2016 and 2017 were just painful to watch though. He didn't have Beckham (and Flacco hasn't had much in the way of help from skill guys outside of Steve Smith, admittedly), but he still had Sterling Shepherd, and Brandon Marshall for a few games.

As for Foles, there's a reason he's never broken 3,000 passing yards, (although he did have 2800 and 27 TDs in 2013, and has pretty much been a career backup. Performing well in one game does not make you a great player, even if most people will see it and think it might. The guy's wildly inconsistent, and generally you're more likely to get bad Nick than good Nick. I like the guy, great story. Doesn't make him a great Q.

Edit: Admittedly, I wouldn't argue with someone putting Marcus Mariota in here. Personally, I think he's gonna go off this year, even if I doubt that he'll ever be a top 5 quarterback, I think he's more than good enough to be a franchise guy.

The NFL owner is the most elite fan. He/she want's a trophy and he's no common fan. But common fans pay the freight, Ran. They want WINNING. Who's their QB and what his stats are is always secondary in interest to a championship. I can't underestimate the significance of football totally being a team sport.

As for the Bills, they have the 4 AFC championships. My rankings are based on winning conference championships & Super bowls. Nothing before 1966 is factored in, which is deemed ancient history. A conference championship means a super bowl birth which means both teams are 60 minutes away from a trophy. The excitement that provides in the 2 weeks leading up to the game fuels fan interest. Sure, losing is tough but at least they went to the big dance.
Now, why are the Bills lower than the Vikes? The Bills and Vikes both went to the SB and came up empty 4 times. This is where I use that "oof" of 4 SB losses in a row as the tiebreaker. I watched each of those games live and rooted for the Bills in three of the games. I rooted for the Redskins in the other game. Loved the Joe Gibbs' teams.

Speaking of which fans have the most excitement for fun, the fans from cities winning a super bowl with different teams ranks highly.

New York has won with the Jets once and the Giants 4 times. The big apple always has the inside track.
Baltimore has won with the Colts once and the Ravens 2 times. Baltimore is an amazingly storied football town also with a CFL Grey Cup (1995) and a USFL championship (1985). On the dark side, the cities' story also includes the Colts odd exodus to Indy.

Los Angeles (Rams, Raiders, Chargers), Houston (Oilers, Texans), St. Louis (Cardinals, Rams) have had two different teams in town but didn't pull it off. Some might add Cleveland to this list, but officially the league says they're the same team/franchise.

Foles is the only one of those guys who is justifiable on that list tbh. Flacco and Manning may not be what they once were, and Prescott may not be elite, but none of them are bad players by any stretch of the imagination.

On the topic of most overrated QB, I nominate Andy Dalton.
