I've watched all of these people, both on the left and those critical of it, and none of them seem to address the problems I have with the left adequately nor articulate them well enough. It feels like watching young earth creationists debate old earth creationists with the latter smugly pointing out facts about the age of the earth and acting superior while ignoring large gaping holes in their worldview that the other side is not qualified to either notice or address.

That's how I see philosophy tube, contrapoints, all that leftytube shit.

Oh sure it's fine if you want to see someone own a noob on how old the earth is, and they do it with flair, but eventually it starts to irritate you when you remember these people believe stupid things that nobody in the debate is addressing.

A good example is philosophytube bringing up "Epistemic injustice" and then just plain failing to apply this concept to feminism and misandry, consequently they blithely act like it's a reasonable movement because they simply do not use the tools for examining whether something is just or unjust on things they hold to be sacred cows. He also notes things like how Kant and the founding fathers sound universalist, but from examining their behavior/rhetoric and so on in other places we can understand they are subtly excluding non-whites from their universalist statements, but fails to comprehend this about feminism, simply regurgitating the same mindless drone that "feminism is an equality movement" as convincingly as a slavery denier bleeting out "All men created equal".

This problem is endemic at the moment in the progressive movement and their content creators and unfortunately both the right and far-right aren't very good at noting it because they see someone arguing that disease is caused by miasma, realize that's stupid, and then conclude "Therefore disease doesn't exist.".

Contrapoints on the other hand throws out stupid shit like Roosh V being an MRA, which shows either complete ignorance or deliberate malice, and suggests she never bothers to engage with the sources or material of those she criticizes in good faith and demonstrates a mentality similar to those who refuse to consider that socialism doesn't mean state ownership and just repeat over and over that it does.

They're all smug idiots convinced of their own dogmatisms who use intellectual tools to "Own the cons/trigger the libs" rather than a consistent way of evaluating reality (notable from how they consistently fail to apply their own rationales and arguments to themselves and their beliefs), and they aren't really worth your time.
