Again with that word...they are hardly cultists.

I think you're setting an unnecessarily high standard for the usage of this term. 'Cult' is used to describe a group with very extreme, zealotous views who venerate a certain person. It can, and often is, used even looser than that.

Here are some examples of that found with Google:

I can only imagine that you are nitpicking out of your own veneration for Bernie.

I have more potential Native American blood in me from ancestors raping other ancestors than potential veneration for Bernie Sanders. Hell I believe in an ideology which is the exact opposite to his whipped up showmanship style democratic socialism. I still think calling his supporters cultists makes little sense, and is nothing, but salt as one poster pointed it out earlier.

Much danger, very Armageddon.

I never said anything about armageddon. I was pointing out the hazards of using nuclear energy. Three Mile Island and Chernobyl are other examples. Nuclear energy is too risky. Renewable sources of energy (wind, solar, etc.) are better options.

Except they don't reach even the foot of nuclear when it comes to energy production. Renewable energy are way too costly and unproductive.

I personally consider alternative clean sources of energy (wind, solar, etc...) to be more supportive sources than main ones. Excellent as buttresses to main power sources, but too weak to be a main power source.

Nuclear and hydroelectric power is where the bulk of energy production is at when it comes to clean energy.

That's a very good take and one I would agree with, actually. Especially hydroelectric power which has lot of potential to grow in efficiency in the near future due to technological progress.

I am aware, yes. Do you have an opinion on them? I don't really know anything about them other than that they got someone elected in Seattle.

As far as I can tell.... they are actual leftists, not just some slightly-more-left-progressive-liberals.
So... my opinion is currently positive.
However, they are Trotskyist according to Wikipedia, but I can't find proof of that on their website.

I don't know what the think about gun control - I just have to hope they are against it and want to arm the working class.

I also just found out that they do have a branch in Northwest Arkansas.

I know the party out where I live (just called The Socialist Party) leans heavily into Leninism and Trotskyism. Revolutionary vanguardism, democratic centralism, etc. But they seem a decent bunch and they're really the only leftist party organising out in my area. I've heard less than flattering rumours about them (taken with a grain of salt because these rumours came from a marxist-leninist), but I had joined up with a university branch of broad socialist alliance party that they're a part of and they did a lot of good work.

What evidence do you have to points to the Soviet Union as being the reason for the disaster.

The disaster was caused by inherent reactor design flaws - which were fixed in other reactors of the same type after the disaster because of the disaster showing what some of the design flaws were - and the reactor operators arranging the core in a manner contrary to the checklist for the test.

Yeah, that's why you can blame the Soviet Union: for playing with a reactor which was already fucky.

Don't know much about Georges Sorel - just read the Wikipedia about him. I guess he had some good ideas, but also some bad ones.
And from what I could tell, he was antisemitic; however, the Wikipedia doesn't have much on that, so I'm not entirely sure.

Nicola Bombacci was an open fascist after he was kicked out of the Italian Communist Party and was loyal to Mussolini and the National Fascist Party. So fuck Nicola Bombacci.

Sorel was a syndicalist who's flirtations with nationalism has been misconstrued as some whole new form of syndicalism, when in reality, his involvement with Maurras and Action française never took off from the ground because of their differences. Bombacci was a mildly interesting character who was attracted to the remnants of social revolutionary tendencies in Fascism.

Not to mention the staff was so incompetent it's sad and the main reason shit got so bad in the first place.

Calling vegans, zealous archaeologists, and grad schoolers cultists is also hyperbolic and dumb.

If you like them, they'd be good for villain material and not much else.
