You're correct generally, I suspect, because the decentralised and invite-only structure means neutrality and fairness of decisions is limited and by design only those who broadly agree will tend to get invites and then not get kicked.

That said, in terms of NSG-related ones I've actually found the RWDT discord (not going to invite anyone, I'm humble rank and file) friendly and quite diverse of opinion given that it contains right-libertarians, religious rightists, fascists, and a few anti-capitalists. I'm sure there's an LWDT discord too which would presumably also be quite diverse given the anarchists, communists, libertarians, Stalinists and various flavours of syndicalism knocking about over here.

I get it. People constantly making assumptions and attacking things that they presume you believe solely because "you're an X" can get pretty exhausting, particularly if it's accompanied by a bunch of character-attacking reputational snarls. Either trying to be the better person and constantly provide people with "learning moments" or ripping them to shreds with unmitigated hostility only works for so long before you need a bit of a rest from it to recharge.

Different types of arsehole. Abrupt arseholes who say "socially unacceptable" things but you can have a laugh and banter with are quite different from the frustrating energy-sappers on both sides of the aisle who unironically believe themselves to be paragons of virtue while they drag everyone else into their cesspit of "can't argue for shit".
