Tell that to all the dead kiwi that were killed by dogs because some asshole took said dog into a place where it wasn't allowed. Turns out dogs are just as capable of killing native animals, they just don't do it as often as cats do.

And they're much less deadly in a garden because, shockingly, dogs are not stealth predators. They're also better domesticated and far less tempted by random pray animals.
