It's hard to believe you're an Argie with how upset you get about American politics.

Seriously, the US needs to stop being so extreme. It's not good for you.

DARN IT I CAN’T READ THE ARTICLE BEHIND THE PAYWALL. *Anger.*
“Conservatives” doesn’t mean every conservative, anyway, Liri. It would be like saying, “Liberals mount a whisper campaign smearing X.” Not every liberal is responsible, no, but this group of people decided to do it. Though I’m not sure who this is talking about. The Saudi journalist?
Hard-line Republicans and conservative commentators are mounting a whispering campaign against Jamal Khashoggi that is designed to protect President Trump from criticism of his handling of the dissident journalist’s alleged murder by operatives of Saudi Arabia — and support Trump’s continued aversion to a forceful response to the oil-rich desert kingdom.

First paragraph isHard-line Republicans and conservative commentators are mounting a whispering campaign against Jamal Khashoggi that is designed to protect President Trump from criticism of his handling of the dissident journalist’s alleged murder by operatives of Saudi Arabia — and support Trump’s continued aversion to a forceful response to the oil-rich desert kingdom.
So yes, they're smearing the deceased journo, and the article very specifically fingers a specific subset of conservatives for it. So no it's not saying "every conservative" at all.

It's really frustrating to me as an American abroad how many American news sites are behind paywalls now. Even worse is some sites like LA Times and Orlando Sentinel reacted to the GDPR by literally banning every European IP address rather than just comply with it by asking people if they consent to cookies.

and another is that your country's bullshit affects all countries' bullshit.

I used to be able to just read The Post whenever, now they’re telling me I have to have an account. It’s annoying.

I don’t think you should be telling Procto to have empathy when you don’t seem to have any problem with Kamala Harris telling Democrats to attack Republicans in the streets. Pushing civil war in another country, in fact, is probably the very opposite of empathy.

Afaik, yes it does.
Also I agree with you about conservatives but supporting the republican party as an institution enables these kinds of things. Conservatives can sepearste their beliefs from trump but ts impossible to seperate the party from Trump at this point.
