Yes (More so in Colorado than Oregon).

Then you know some weird people I guess. All the ones I know of vote based on their values, with some economic populism thrown in. Personally I don't see why, they where poor under the democrats, they where poor under the republicans, and they will likely be poor for the foreseeable future.

1. Nope, poor conservatives are very common in the US, especially in the more religious areas
2. The problem is is that they think the Republicans wanting to deregulate businesses, give tax breaks to the rich, and defund social services and programs are actually going to help them get a leg up in society, and that the Dems are just trying to stifle their economic progress

The pain of this all is that there's two more years and it's only going to intensify as people publicly stand for nomination of their respective parties.. the kindergarten tantrums and name-calling will be unbearable.

2. What sounds better: A group who actively supports deregulation and making your life and others like you in basically slavery, or a group that supports workers rights and giving people a chance to move around in society? No, their lives won't improve overnight (These things usually take a while), but they would be better with Dems in charge instead of the Reps.

Does that mean that Bernie supporters are masochists? How about the British and French populations where masochists for not stopping the Reich sooner? How about the entire West from the early 1500's to the late 1880's for allowing slavery to still be a thing? Where does it end and where does it begin? Jeeze louise.
