Does anyone have any idea as to what sort of government you'd call this?
A federal republic where people vote for their local MPs but don't vote for the presidential role. The president's children take over, but if there is more than one, then the people vote for who they want. And voting in voluntary.

Same category as the UK. Local MPs, and a head of state from a family. Only the aspect of voting between all the offspring is different.

It's not a monarchy, but a Presidential Dynasty kind of.

It'd be a form of elective parliamentarian monarchy. Except not in name (Because, you know, "president")
