It might be today, or tomorrow, or this week. It probably hopefully will be.

I think you might be overreacting but if you're really down about this, we do have a list of resources to help people feeling depressed.

*puts on Mod hat & looms ominously*

Let's stop arguing and saying "Nonsense" and try to be more supportive, shall we?

You weren't alive during 9/11, were you? Experiencing that as it was happening put a lot of things into perspective.

That's not true.

The Witch Trials killed between 20,000 and 100,000 innocent women in ritual violence between the 1400s and 1800s.

20,000 Indigenous Australians were ethnically cleansed between 1788 and 1934

200,000 were killed by Cromwell's conquest of Ireland between 1649 and 1653.

Yes, terrorism is bad. It's traumatic and it's wicked. But there are not more people wanting to harm than have done so over the centuries. And I'm sure plenty of people -- at various points in all these previous periods (I could list more, but I don't want to press the point) -- felt the world was ending.

Yet, we're still here.

Yeah... okay never mind. The world isn't going to end then. Yet.

I should probably go outside and do something else.

It probably will. Because a terrorist attack in London when your friend is in London is when the world ends.

Ffs, i was in the station when the last moron tried to bomb athe subways. Most people survived, and live healthy productive lives.

No-one was killed.

That doesn't mean the world is ending. It just means that people are people. A percentage of people have always wanted to harm other people, and they've always found an excuse to do it. That's not the wider percentage of humanity.

But a lot more people are doing these things now. So the world is ending.

Hardly. The world isn't ending.

Or the fact that there have been numerous terror attacks in London, including the Hyde Park and Regent's Park bombings in '82...

Co-worker lost family in the Nice truck incident a few years back, he'd probably be a bit disgusted at giving in to panic.

Bit of decorum, lads! We're all hale and hearty and have nothing to fret or complain over.

Unless you've brought lollipops to placate this aggravated rabble you've got a storm a coming.

Sour apple for me, thank you.

If you don’t mind me asking, may I please have a cherry-flavored one?

The sour apple sounds good. And mine and Ethel's need to be sugar-free.

… Should've but didn't.

EDIT: Couldn't you have found me a sweeter raspberry, Farn?

Indeed, occasional serious detours balance out the joviality.

My aunt. She must be some kind of Übermensch that has transcended such banal things.

What do I look like, the Easter bunny? Doesn't he only bring candy for the good boys and girls? Or am I creating holiday hybrids again?
