Ooh, haha, thanks! Yeah, it's a pretty cool language, but at the same time, it's one of those that even the natives have some trouble with.

We have a saying: "To said it is one pronounciation; to read it is another." So, a word can have different tone or you speak it differently compared to reading. And it can change the meaning.

It's a wild ride, but at the same time, very interesting. I also love how the characters are so rounded.

Take a simple name like ဝင်း - it can be transliterated/Romanised into Win, Winn, Wynn, or some other forms that sound good to you.

And that's also why not many people can pronounce my Burmese name. They tried and tried, then gave up and simply pointed out "All right, I'm so sorry, but who is this?"

On another note, this is one of my favorites, the difference between a ကြောင် (cat) and a ကျောင်း (school), is just a colon away, with the modifier.

Letzebuerg does have a language which is still primarily Germanic, but with a significant French influence. It's not unlike Elzas-Lotharingen (or Alsace-Lorraine, as the French authorities prefer to call it) in that respect.
