My understanding is that the big J wanted followers to spread his teachings but he himself never claimed divinity or lineage from the Lord. That came later.

Okay we're verging close to things that should be talked about in the CDT. But, to sum up: most big churches and most of Christianity doesn't think that.

No specifics. I trusted someone with the specifics once when I was 15. He responded by buying a big picture of him and hanging it in my room when I wasn't home. I slept on the couch for a week.
