Although video games are more sophisticated nowadays, something I've never seen them get quite right is flowing capes.

What they forget to mention is you can't use these in class. School is the real plot to destroy us.

Cellphones were only just starting to make an appearance at the very tail end of my school years, and even then they were massive bricks that could only make and receive calls, and only in very specific areas, usually on the top of a hill or something. Only one kid in my school had one. One kid. Out of thousands. One.

We had 8-track players when I was in HS. Such was the technology. I suppose all the Roswell stuff hadn't been released to the corporations for reverse engineering yet.

I had a couple of them stolen out of my car in the early 1970s until I concealed it under the driver's seat. At that time the whole phone thing was only a pipe dream of star trek fans. I would have never dreamed then things would have become what they are now. I was thinking then we'd be living more like the Jetsons. Ha!

No, but really. Every game I've seen where the character can wear a cape, the developers can never get the flowing of it to look more natural, even when they've been able to make gait and posture more natural.

As I said, my typewriter is still going. It has outlived about...12 computers I've had I think...?

Some of it takes a bit of forcing to get it working. For example I recently adapted one of my old pulse dial phones to work on the modern line by following some instructions I found online. It is a bitch to do, but you can't beat the style of the old phones. The modern house phones are too clinical nowadays.

Good luck finding a new ribbon. I had this ancient typewriter in the 1960s that came from the next door neighbor who was born in 1911. It was an ancient Underwood.
I actually used the thing in the late sixties to type papers for HS classes.

It was very similar to this one... spoiler.

One day my Dad tossed it out once I went off to college. Damn shame he didn't have a feeling for it's worth later.
