I'm sorry Such a disgrace, considering it's supposedly part of the wealthiest country in the world.

Sad thing is that it's been a year, or thereabouts, and there's a lot of people without homes, there are areas that look like the hurricane hit yesterday and things are not very stable. A lot of people with PTSD. A lot of people left the island for the US mainland. It's super sad to see the devastation, and now they could possibly get hit again? PR can't take it.

Grandma, sadly, can't be taken out of her nursing home. However, the nursing home is fully stocked and prepared for such an emergency with heavy duty generators, a safe infrastructure and furnished with excellent storm shutters. Mom however is not as safe. She had estimates for storm windows and shutters but is waiting for them to be made and then installed. Something that won't happen until late October.

Atm, PR is in the cone of uncertainty. If Isaac changes course a bit to the north, they'll get hit with a lot of rain and perhaps tropical storm force winds. But that's enough to bring the energy grid down for weeks. If the system veers South, then it's ok. Behind Isaac, there's also Helene. What her trajectory will be is anyone's guess right now.
