Except that the linked article in the OP mentioned surrounding states, and OP opened the discussion to the entirety of the US, but I'll add; forgetting that free movement is a thing in the states & implying the same argument shouldn't be applied elsewhere (like south afr*ca being too dark).

If LNA was a proper Yankee, he'd know. This is really basic stuff that New England votes Democrat, and for anyone to think that preserving the local culture or preserving the white majority would make it vote Republican is just ignorant. If you're going to talk about protecting the culture or the values or whatever, you should at least have some basic idea of what those values are.

The argument has nothing to do with increasing immigration to the US as a whole. The people that NH wants to attract might be coming from other parts of the US. Or they might be people that were planning to come to the US regardless, but they're trying decide, "Do I want to go to California or do I want to go to New Hampshire?" There's just nothing about it that suggests wanting to change federal immigration policies.

New Hampshire is pretty white. Back when Chris Rock was a correspondent for The Daily Show he noted it was practically impossible for him to find appropriate hair care products there. It, like the region and nation it is a part of, is becoming less white. Diversity is strength. Live it or live with it.

Diversity isn't strength or weakness. It's just diversity.

And yeah, NH is pretty white. One year I went to a 4th of July celebration in Conway. They had this huge field where everyone was gathered to watch the fireworks and listen to music. At one point I looked out across the field and realized I could not see a single person that was not white.

I did see a black guy later that day, but it was still kind of weird seeing such a large crowd of white people.
