How the hell is Psychology Today "not reliable"?? Aellex made the same bullshit assertion on another thread.

Why is that where your thought process ends? If you don't know why they're not reliable re-evaluate your opinion. You don't know how reliable they are which means you should be skeptical of claims they make themselves and determine where their informationis coming from.

Handilly, where the article says conversion therapy doesn't work it links to a meta-anlysis. There you'll find data with rigorous explanations of how it was collected, what was concluded, and why those conclusions were reached.

This is how you determine reliability, what your parents, teachers, or clergymen say may spur you to be more skeptical but if you just reach a conclusion based on that you're forming opinions without doing any thinking.

Actually no, you don't have to. If you are unable to form your own ideas and positions then ask your parents to make a nation and do that themselves.

Yeah never assume that. If someone cannot or has not demonstrated why they are correct then don't believe them.

My parents made me get confirmed in the Catholic Church and threatened me with not letting me get my driver's license if I didn't. 10 years later I'm still very resentful of that.

Your parents are demonstrably wrong about many things, so is the church, god's not real. This is not the subject of the thread however.

Dont let your parents keep you from thinking critically and forming your own opinions and doing your own research into stuff.
