Not only do they endanger their own children, they endanger children too young or too sick to be vaccinated.

Also, any parent who won't give their kids treatment for a curable illness, deciding instead to pray or do whatever dumb shit they think is a substitute for medicine. I have no tolerance for that. I think someone whose kid could have easily been saved but died because they were denied medicine should be criminally treated exactly the same as someone who lets their kid die out of apathy or malice. Being in a cult is not an excuse, a child doesn't consent to being in the cult and certainly doesn't consent to die.

Unrelated, but I see "murder" as being one of the lower crimes of the "high-crimes" one can commit. I'm sure everyone's heard this before, but more often then not, murder is a crime of passion or instinct. Usually it doesn't happen out of bad-intent, but moreover, bad situations or poor judgement at a moments notice. Just like how a police officer could accidentally murder a civilian, or a drunk driver murdering a pedestrian. In both cases, there was no intent to kill, just, poor judgement on their own accord.

I would think that crimes which the individual does intentionally push moral boundaries set on for centuries by society, is the crime in which the perpetrator is most guilty.

I'm more prone to judge a crime by the defendant's intention than the act.

In the act alone, I'm sure serial killer and serial rapist are at the top, or near it. In more traditional crimes, I may place a lesser crime above a [single] murderer depending on the suspects' mens rea.

I think the consequences of crimes are more ethically significant than the intentions of the perpetrator. You could make a case for nearly anyone that they didn't have malicious intentions. You could make that case for a suicide bomber by saying that they thought they were doing the will of God, or for a war criminal that they were trying to protect their country from the enemy.
