What can be said about this other than it's sad? Lil Boosie (real name Torrence Hatch) is obviously uneducated at best. As a person of color, I hate to see my people so ignorant of the system in place which causes violence in impoverished black communities. It's like he has been rich for so long, that he has started to act like a privileged white man in the sense that he is completely blind to the system that perpetuates black on black violence and keeps white men out of the hot seat.

On top of this, he speaks in a way and from a social status that harms the cause, in terms that could set us back, and I don't think his ignorance is an excuse, just as a white man's ignorance of privilege is an excuse, and Lil Boosie is an inherent part of Racism.

Sometimes you find some rather . . . shall we say un-reasonable people who don't want to have fact-based discussion. Those are the people who I consider "uncivilized", but you guys aren't those people. In general, this thread has a bit too many hypotheticals in my opinion, but you guys aren't screaming racist skinhead at me calling the mods yet, so you're well tempered and decent folks in my experience.

Absolutely. When the definition of "racism" is constantly changing to suit the needs of endlessly butthurt, increasingly whiny, and ever hypocritical ideologues, I think the adults among us need a heads up on what it means today before the tantrum comes where we are accused of that and the various other -isms or -phobias. If we're using the Webster's definition "a belief that race is the primary determinant of human traits and capacities and that racial differences produce an inherent superiority of a particular race", not many people can be ignorant of that, so no excuses there. Things that hurt your feelings can't be so easily defined.

I’d like to add that race relations and systemic racism in the US isn’t just a black and white issue (pun intended). Nor does being a member of a racial or ethnic minority somehow absolve you from being “racist”, whether through prejudice towards other minority groups, or certain members of the white majority whose views you disagree with.
