That case doesn't really support your position, as the circumstances of that case are extreme:

Again, you underestimate the hard on the Christian Right has for making A Handmaiden's Tale a reality. Not to mention, abortion is clearly "murder" to these people. So why wouldn't they want to persecute a woman who had an abortion the same way they would murder in the first degree?
