1. There is little correlation between legal status of abortion and abortion rates. In fact, in Africa (where most countries have heavy restrictions on abortion) there are 28 abortions per 1000 women per year, while in Europe (where most countries have much more liberal abortion laws) there are 27 abortions per 1000 women per year.

2. We are not in any real danger right now from sub-replacement fertility - there are 7.5 billion of us on this planet right now. We should be more concerned about the dangers posed by climate change, superintelligent AI, etc.

1. A fetus does not become conscious and able to feel pain until 24 weeks after conception. So no, abortion before then is morally no worse than throwing away your PC (albeit far more physically and mentally stressful for the mother)

While anecdotal, I think that it shows that just because abortion is available does not mean it will be used.
