Okay, but you have to be Crassus.

Just make it a more modern Troika. CM can be Stalin and purge the other two.

Hey, WRA, out of curiosity, who interests you in your elections? There seem to be some nutty ones (Of course), but a few of the Republicans (Albeit one for my specific district) seem pretty moderate.

Eh, nobody really. The Republican running against Heck for congress doesn't seem too bad but I don't think he has a huge chance of winning, if I don't vote for him I'll probably just write myself in or just not vote. Tim Sheldon, our Democratic senator at the state level, is a pretty conservative Dem and I like him so I'll probably vote for him again. I'll probably just ignore the candidates for federal senate because I know I'm going to dislike whoever wins.

Don't you recall? You don't vote in uncontested races, and I explained that you should vote for candidates you support even if they're running unopposed.

What's the point? We both know two really awful Democrats are going to win and I'm not going to be happy with them. Might as well save the ink and just vote for things I care about.

Cantwell's not running uncontested, however. Washington has a jungle primary just like California.

The senate race in Washington is not uncontested.

The polls show that Hutchison's most likely to take Spot 2, and she's not a Democrat.

I don't need one to know it's going to be two Democrats. The GOP has about as much chance here as they do in California, which is to say none at all.

None at all in November, no. Here, however, there will be a Republican that takes the other spot against Cantwell.

Hell, last time around the Democratic candidate for Senate won by 18%. I don't need a crystal ball to know they're going to win again this year. Some races just aren't even worth voting in imo.

If only that self voter suppression had worked out in the rust belt in 2016, could have saved ourselves some trouble...
"...I have been gravely disappointed with the white moderate. I have almost reached the regrettable conclusion that the Negro's great stumbling block in the stride toward freedom is not the White Citizen's Council-er or the Ku Klux Klanner, but the white moderate who is more devoted to "order" than to justice; who prefers a negative peace which is the absence of tension to a positive peace which is the presence of justice; who constantly says "I agree with you in the goal you seek, but I can't agree with your methods of direct action;" who paternalistically feels he can set the timetable for another man's freedom; who lives by the myth of time and who constantly advises the Negro to wait until a "more convenient season." -MLK Jr.

We usually just take the top 6 or so for the debates. But I'd be certain to get at least 1,000 write in votes, which would've been enough for top half :P

That's pretty good. Protection rackets could get you 3 or 4,000 more.

The Plaza's updated yet again with these new measures from Montana:

The third is Initiative 185. This would raise tobacco taxes by $2 per pack and taxes on other types of tobacco or e-cigarette products in similar proportions. The proceeds from the tax increase would fund the state's portion of Medicaid as well as anti-smoking programmes and long-term care for seniors and the disabled. I think it could pass, but I'm not too certain yet.

The fourth is Initiative 186. This would require Montana's Environmental Quality Department to automatically reject permits for hard rock mines if the mining company's reclamation plans don't include sufficient means to preserve water supplies in the area without "perpetual treatment", which means eliminating acids, mercury, or lead on a permanent basis. I'm not sure this one will pass, but knowing Montana, it has a chance.
