That will be self evident by 2090 2060 or so.

"...I have been gravely disappointed with the white moderate. I have almost reached the regrettable conclusion that the Negro's great stumbling block in the stride toward freedom is not the White Citizen's Council-er or the Ku Klux Klanner, but the white moderate who is more devoted to "order" than to justice; who prefers a negative peace which is the absence of tension to a positive peace which is the presence of justice; who constantly says "I agree with you in the goal you seek, but I can't agree with your methods of direct action;" who paternalistically feels he can set the timetable for another man's freedom; who lives by the myth of time and who constantly advises the Negro to wait until a "more convenient season." -MLK Jr.

I know lightning never strikes twice, but let's see if we can repeat the oh-so accurate 2016 polls.

What does Russia have to do with polls being off? That doesn't make any sense.

It’s like they aren’t even trying to be subtle that they see free and fair elections as a annoyance and don’t want everyone to be able to vote

At least Omarosa backed her words with evidence.
Crimes committed by Muslims will be proof of a pan-Islamic plot and Islam's inherent evil. On the other hand, crimes committed by non-Muslims will merely be the acts of mentally ill lone wolves who do not represent their professed belief system at all.
The probability of someone secretly participating in homosexual acts is directly proportional to the frequency and loudness of their publicly professed disapproval and/or disgust for homosexuality.
If Donald Trump accuses an individual of malfeasance without evidence, it is almost a certainty either he or someone associated with him has in fact committed that very same malfeasance to a greater degree.

Maybe so, but none of the 2016 election makes much sense until one looks at the Russian efforts to affect the election. Then everything comes into question.

Nevertheless, to the actual point, I think the GOP is in desperate straights in 2018 and would love for any kind of help from anywhere. The popular anger in 2018 is working for the other side this time around.

She says she has it, and I think she will release it if the pressure's high enough.

It's also questionable how she didn't report the abuse to police if they're real at the time they happened.

Not really. Plenty of abused people don't report it out of fear.

There's all sorts of reasons women don't report abuse or assault at the time, using the excuse of 'opportunism' is the general go to effort to silence victims. I'm never comfortable with that excuse no matter who uses it.

People don't report crimes to the police all the time dude.
Most of the time I have no idea what the hell I'm doing or talking about.

Me neither. I'll wait until she either releases the video to disprove the haters or says there never was one, but I'm starting to lean towards there being evidence.

I don’t believe her until she provides the evidence. Why wouldn’t you report the incident? Ellison has unequivocally denied it and I take his word over hers for now

Like we've been saying, Lumen. Most victims don't report abuse from their partners for many reasons, some because they think it'll be one-off, some because of fear, some because they don't want to compound any shame they might be feeling.

The whole situation with Ellison is very unfortunate, and I don't feel comfortable supporting him for the election. Doug Wardlow's awful too, however. Not very optimistic right now.

The issue for this thread isn't merely his race for Attorney General, it's how it will affect DFL candidates across the state and Democratic candidates across the nation. It'll look pretty bad indeed if it seems that the party was sheltering a known abuser. And yes, I know we should be thinking about his alleged victim, but this is a thread, ultimately, about the election so the issue can't be avoided.

In addition, it would further negative stereotypes about how all Muslims hate women, which is the last thing this society needs at the moment.

I agree that these other problems are huge concerns as well, even if people who try to make broad conjectures about Muslims and the DFL based on Ellison alone are being ridiculous.

The only reason I brought up his specific election at all is because I'll be voting in it.

Petra and Lumen sound like Trump supporters making every excuse that Trump didn't do anything or any other Republican with accusations. Doesn't look that great to be like that.
