What's wrong with autonomous vehicles? There's a lot of people who can't drive for many reasons who'll have the means to get places once we've perfected the technology.

I’m not a fan of Autonomous things. Plus I like driving and robot cars would just be in the way.

Plus the amount of people who physically can’t drive a car is pretty damn insignificant and not a reason to base policy off of.

In a absolutely momentous ruling with implications that will go far beyond this year the Michigan Supreme Court has upheld the redistricting amendment to create a independent commission ruling the amendment did not violate the state constitution in a 4-3 decision. This could have implications for the Supreme Court as well as two seats on the court are up for election this year. So there is no confusion they are statewide elections.

The initiative will probably pass as these sort of things are popular with voters. It was passed in my state in 2014 with about 57 percent of the vote.

Well, that's good. Have you seen some of the districts around Detroit? Downtown is divided between the 13th on the north side and the 14th on the south.

They are absolutely atrocious looking. Republicans even admitted they true them to pack democratic voters. With a fair map the state legislature would be much more competitive and you would likely not have Democrats winning the popular vote and not getting a majority which has happened in the last three cycles.

I don't know a lot about his policies beyond that, obviously, but I'd be almost tempted on that reason alone. Depends what he was like with everything else.

Well, he's a Republican opposed to sanctuary cities, and he supports abolishing the estate tax, making the 2017 tax cuts permanent, and enforcing border security according to his website.

I’m not a fan of Autonomous things. Plus I like driving and robot cars would just be in the way.

Self-driving cars could probably get out of your way better than human drivers.

Plus the amount of people who physically can’t drive a car is pretty damn insignificant and not a reason to base policy off of.

Anyone promoting this Autonomous futuristic bullshit should have their rights automatically stripped

Extremely likely. Computers are good at doing loads of calculations really quickly, and that translates well to operating cars on the road.

Automation is good, though, so fortunately you can't do anything to stop it.

That's only a problem if unemployed people don't have a decent standard of life.

Not for those it puts out of work.

That's only a problem if unemployed people don't have a decent standard of life.

We won’t be able to provide that if 60%+ of the nation is unemployed. That will break out welfare net. Oh and don’t even think about UBI or taxing the companies to pay for it. Those companies are going to be so powerful that congress will be forced to do what they want.

So in your world expect a lot more tax cuts for the rich.
