And what would you have? A one party state like Eritrea or Uzbekistan?

I would like to have a multi-party system like in Germany or Denmark or Sweden.

Maybe, I dunno, because they're your preferred candidate? Some people like to actually vote for the ones that make them happy. Shocking, I know.

In the end, that's about it. Finally bothered to look at the Green Party platform and it's the one I think I most closely agree with.

It'll get rid of him on the Senate - making everyone there happier and probably more willing to cooperate and be more useful - and nobody on SCOTUS would want to work with him so it'd just be a de facto eight-man court. In fact, future decisions would have to be read as 4-4-1

Well that's unfortunate...

It's unfortunately how things work. You will always be in danger of being disarmed and subjugated by the Clintons of the world as well as the Trumps while you don't have democratic control of the economy and the state.

Are you suggesting that it is better to have an incompetent president than a competent president if that president happens to be of a different party?

Frankly, opponents of Trump would probably elect bloody Stalin if he ran against Trump, so I'm not even surprised.

Nowadays, even the sh*ttiest candidates are considered if they are anti-Trump, and almost none actually consider said candidates' platforms.

Not necessarily.
I would think Kasisch, Johnson, and McMullin would do be better but not Cruz.

One guy ain't everyone and pure competency ain't everything m8s.

Insofar as the different party in question has a platform that, if implemented, would cause a lot of harm... yeah.

Implying your gotchas had any quality to begin with.
Crimes committed by Muslims will be proof of a pan-Islamic plot and Islam's inherent evil. On the other hand, crimes committed by non-Muslims will merely be the acts of mentally ill lone wolves who do not represent their professed belief system at all.
The probability of someone secretly participating in homosexual acts is directly proportional to the frequency and loudness of their publicly professed disapproval and/or disgust for homosexuality.
If Donald Trump accuses an individual of malfeasance without evidence, it is almost a certainty either he or someone associated with him has in fact committed that very same malfeasance to a greater degree.

Do my prediction is that Republicans retain the Senate, Democrats take the house, and down ticket all sorts of Democrats and progressives take over in state senates, house, governorship, and so on and so forth. That will probably be where the biggest Democratic gains are honestly.

I think your probably right. state houses and statewide offices are far more important anyway. I would not rule out a senate flip but with Heidkamp likely to lose I think there is decent possibility of a tied senate.
