Each individual ultimately decides what the meaning of their own life is.

The most basic "meaning of life" in my book is to reproduce before you die. Other than that, it's pretty specific for each person, I reckon
The Creeping Barrage is the name given to a method of firing artillery. At the beginning of Trench Warfare the basic tactic was to fire lots of artillery at enemy trenches for a sustained period of time and to stop firing just before the infantry attacked. However this method wasn’t very successful as the German had built strong bunkers and were able to man the defences in the time between the bombardment ending and the infantry getting to the trenches. A solution to the problem of the time lag between the bombardment and the arrival of the infantry was to change the way that the artillery was fired. Instead of just aiming at the same target the creeping barrage moved forward at a prearranged pace.

Why does there need to be an objective meaning? If there is a Meaning, great. If not, oh well. Might as well enjoy it. A few possible answers though.
1. Practice kindness and tolerance
2.Love Yourself
3.Never Ever refreeze food that has been defrosted
4. 42 (I had to)

Because people like to give their life an objective meaning. I agree with you, mind you, but that's pretty much it. People like to think that there is a reason for what they're doing or aspiring to do.

I mean, I myself find absurdism to be intriguing, as well as others. If life has no meaning, then you are free and have free will.

Tbh, speaking only for myself, life is what you make of it. If it has no meaning, good. If it has one, good. I only know what I want for mine, more often than not. And that's it.

In The Saviors of God, Nikos Kazantzakis advises us to "sail calmly toward the abyss; learn to say that nothing exists."

It is a way of living which is active and has direction but does not depend upon external mileposts.

How so. If there is no meaning, then you are free to decide what you will do instead. Without a reason or a fate, you are able to decide yourself.

I get what your saying, and I'm rather a fan of optimistic nihilism myself, but a meaningless universe does not necessarily equate to free will. Determinism could still be a thing.

This is exactly what I'm meaning. What you call "will" could just be the product of purposeless/meaningless interactions between well-defined physical entities (electrons and molecules, mostly) in your own body. The idea of "fate" (or servum arbitrium, or mechanicist determinism if you prefer) is unrelated to the idea of "purpose" or "meaning".

Not for cats, apparently; I once tried to give a cat a belly rub. Didn't go so well, though my hand is still intact.

Life is like a random box of chocolates - sometimes you get the sweet, sweet white or milk chocolate, then other times, you get the bitter dark chocolate.

(This ain't a racist statement; I'm using the literal fact that the dark chocolate tastes bitter than the white one. :?)

I read somewhere that the author of the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy was a computer nerd and that, in programming/computing, the asterisk means "whatever you want it to be" i.e. a wild card. The number representing the asterisk was 42, thus the meaning of life is whatever you want it to be.
This is my signature. The old one was odd.

The meaning of life is to search for the meaning of life. And since that's an impossible goal to truly figure out, it sustains our innate human curiosity.
